this woman always has this ego the size of an elephant.

Bhansali wanted Salman. Masand wrote about it last year in his column.

Old Wounds Seldom Heal

It's no secret that Bajirao Mastani was a passion project for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who had been flirting with the film for years before he finally made it with Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. Apparently Padmavati, which he's currently filming with Ranveer, Deepika and Shahid Kapoor, has also been a project he was trying to get off the ground for some years.

All dreams of making it with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai went out of the window after the actors fell out, but insiders say that Bhansali did reach out to them again a few years ago, to check if they might consider making the movie. The big twistand the only way Aishwarya might have agreed to do the film with Salmanwas going to be that Salman would play the Alauddin Khilji character who wreaks havoc and goes to war to capture Rani Padmavati but has no scenes whatsoever with her in the movie.

Apparently Salman nixed the idea. A source close to the actor reveals that Salman was happy to make the film, but it had to be a love story. He was keen to recapture the magic of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, and wasn't going to settle for a movie where he didn't get to work with her.

She obviously is going through some mid life crisis or professional crisis if she is going around talking about all the movies she was offered or just thought of... that was one quality of her l liked that she never used to talk about movies she was offered. There is just no reason to, Someone else did it and end of the day, it's their work to talk about.

aish is obviously going through a gigantic career lull hence the questions and the answers which was never her thing
are we really that naive to believe the questions are not okay-ed by them before they answer..if you don't wana talk about something..with your influence you won't be questioned at the first place or else she would still be asked questions about salman..

she herself is okaying questions based on movies she rejected and answering them then..at the end..it only makes her someone she was never known to do..

Question is what is she getting out of talking about the films she rejected in the prehistoric era?

One I'm not 100% sure on is Namastey London (2007) - I read it somewhere but there weren't enough credible sources.

Also, regarding Khamoshi. SLB's first choice for the parents were none other than Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. Then he offered the film to Dimple Kapadia but that didn't work out because apparently she lobbied for her daughter Twinkle Khanna to get the lead role but he was set on Manisha at that point. It has also been suggested that Kareena Kapoor was once in consideration for the role - but she would've been 15 years old at that point, so who knows.

EDIT: +++ And as I'm sure most of you will know that Khamoshi was WRITTEN with Madhuri Dixit in mind. She heard the story and thought it was way too sad so she rejected it. He was heartbroken. She was the first choice. He in fact chased her for months.
Same with HDDCS, it was written for Madhuri but apparently he was too embarrassed to even offer it to her after the embarrassment of the previous time.
Madhuri heard this, and after she watched and loved HDDCS she personally called him up, and that's how Devdas happened.

MY GOD

Bollywood has been saved from some huge disasters...

Aishwarya would have BRUTALLY RUINED the classic movies and roles like ROJA, KHAMOSHI, VEER ZARA, BOMBAY, PARINEETA, PINJAR and others with her ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC LIFELESS INCONVINCING ACTING and IRRITATING CRINGE WORTHY ARTIFICIAL dialogue delivery...the roles which those great actresses have immortalized forever.

SUCH A RELIEF reading this thread.
