Letterman was the no.1 in those days like that other guy Larry King who was more into politics and stuff. Only when Letterman retired all these dime a dozen shows like Kimmel, Fallon, View etc came about.

He was so patronizing to Aishwarya personally And India and she gave it back and good and kept her dignity while answering for all the diss he was dishing out to Indians at the same time. Aishwarya, the only woman who managed to keep her class and dignity intact while dishing out same condescending comments at the same time. What a representative we Indians have in her.

Priyanka always goes overboard with her fitting in behaviour, trying so so hard to be all American. She's more OTP than any American I've seen, more like hillybilly type of behaviour. No HW Z-listers even fall over backwards like her. And here when Ellen dissed her, it just blew her balloon and she fizzled out. No more fake OTP behavior. Tells you so much about a person and their dignity, fakeness does, doesn't it.

Deepika is just a sad case. Trying to be OTP like Priyanka with her super cringe and grovelling making Vin's babies in my head comment but not even succeeding at that as she has such a wet dishrag personality for interviews and has like nothing to say ever. Her servility and obsequiousness to try and appeal to Americans is so offputting. No rep for us Indians but at least keep your dignity intact lady. Americans won't care for that kind of kowtowing.

^^ Yeahh honestly Aish killed it! Letterman was so clearly condescending and racist but she totally shut him down WHILE still maintaining her own grace! Very sharp!

Dialogues like "we don't have to take appointments to meet our parents" are gold! 😆

Really there is no comparison. Aishwarya was so coforrrable and dignified.
Priyanka was so into it...her whole body is leaning forward towards ellen...like she is too eager
And ellen is actually drawing back and not laughing as much either. Priyanka was way over expressive and she came off as fake
Deepika was clearly nervous and that showed because she started babbling after a point

Ash is a pro. She's super intelligent and incredibly self-aware, started this whole trend of being uber diplomatic and talking about her craft and stuff and now everyone just follows suit. There's before her and after her. Before her most BW people just talked about each other and each other's films. She brought in the abstract.

There's one interview of hers where she gives it to the over eager and prying journo by saying something like he wants to be her gynae or something.

And another where it's mentioned how careful she is with contracts putting on overruling clauses of her own even when they're not included, much better than our diplomats who dont know the first thing about country's sovereignty and sell off India at places like WTO.
