Raman was sitting waiting for the operation to be over smoking his nth cigarette when a nurse came and said -yeh sab dawa laani hai medical store se,its needed.saying so she gave the prescription to raman and was going but stopped and said -don't u know, it's a no smoking zone.
Raman -really, mujhe nahi pata tha.
Nurse -cant u see the board, she said turning towards the board but stopped seeing no board there. She look at Raman with suspicious eyes and he nodded his head innocently like he don't even know who did it.
Nurse made a dirty face and said -bring the medicine fast. Saying so she went.
Raman smirked and walked out to bring the medicine. He purchased the medicine and went back to hospital. He gave the medicine to the staff and sat there waiting. That's when a lady was brought there who was wounded. A man took her there and shouted -help ,anyone help.
A doctor came out and said -whats the matter??
Man -isse chot lagi hai sar par, please save her.
Doctor checked her and said -sorry ,she died.
Man got shocked hearing this and said -no this can't happen, tum mar nahi sakti. U can't die, saying so he start crying while Raman remembered the incident happened six months ago seeing that.
Flashback
Raman came running taking the lady in his arms and shouted for help. A doctor came out and he said -check her, she got shot.
Doctor checked her and said -sorry, she died. He said making Raman shocked to no end.
Flashback end
Raman start shivering badly remembering the incident. He start sweating badly and getting restless.
Raman -she died because of me, they all died because of me. I couldn't save them. I couldn't save anyone. I can't save anyone ,I just can't save anyone. Saying so he got up and went out murmuring.
After half an hour, he came back fully drunk having a bottle in his hand. He was sitting on the bench and was crying saying, I couldn't save them.
After half an hour, doctor came out and went to raman.
Doc -that girl is saved, u can take her home after a day. U took her here at right time and she got saved. Warna woh mar jaati.
Raman look at him and said -maine nahi bachaya usse, I can't save anyone. I just can't save anyone. Main kisi ko nahi bacha sakta. I can't save anyone. He said shouting making the doctor look at him thourougly.
Doc -r u drunk, yes u r. How can u enter the hospital all drunk. Security baahar nikalo Isse. He shouted and four security guards came.
Doc -throw him out, he is drunk. He said and all nodded. They hold him to took him out but he pushed everyone and said -i will not go anywhere. I will sit here only, till u make her alive again.
Doc -alive, kisko??
Raman -wahin joh mar gayi.
Doc -but that girl is alive.
Raman -toh mara kaun jiske liye main sad hoon.
Doc -i think he is mad, call the cops. Woh baahar phenkenge Isse. He said and the compounder called the nearest PS.
After half an hour, a cop entered the premises.
Doc saw him and said -thank god inspector ,Aap aa gaye. Yeh aadmi subah Ek ladki ko lekar aa gaya. Phir uska zabardasti operation karwaya. Ab naa paise de raha hai aur naa usse le jaa raha hai. Sharab pee kar tamasha kar raha hai.baar baar keh raha hai kisi ko zinda karke le liye, jab ki woh ladki mari hi nahi hai. Please arrest him or atleast take him away from here. Saare pateint pareshan ho rahe hai uski wajah se.
Ins-ok, I will take care of it. He said and walked with the doctor only to see a person shouting on the staff all drunk.
Ins-excuse me Mr, he said and Raman turned.
His voice soften and he said -raman, tum, yahan??
Raman look at him trying to remember him and said -ashok,ashok mere yaar. Kahan tha tu, I was missing u so much.dekh naa, all r troubling me unnecessarily. Bacha le mujhe yaar, mera yaar hai naa tu,Saying so he hugged inspector ashok khanna.
Ashok hugged him back and said -haan, I am taking care of everything. U just settle down. Saying so he made raman sit and said to the doctor -i am taking him home, u just relax.
Doc -aur woh ladki, jisse yeh laaye the. Uska kya karna hai.
Ashok -ladki, kaun ladki. Can u show her to me. He said and doctor took him to Ishita's cabin. He saw her and wondered who is she??
Doc -kya karna hai iska??
Ashok -usse abhi yahin rehne dijiye, call me once she gain conscious.
Doc -aur uska bill??
Ashok -u will get ur payment. Just call me once she is up. He said and went out. He went to raman and said -raman, chal ghar chal.
Raman look at him and said -woh mar gayi ashok, Main nahi bacha paaya usse. They all died infront of me, I couldn't save any of them. He was saying almost crying when ashok said -ghar chal, Raman. Everything will be fine.
Raman -kya thik hoga, she died, he died, they all died because of me.all died because of me. He was saying when ashok took him out. He made raman sit in his car and drove towards his house.
Ashok -who's that girl, Raman??
Raman look at ashok with questioning eyes.
Ashok -jisse tu hospital laaya hai, woh kaun hai??
Raman didn't said anything but was just repeating, she died, they died.
Ashok stop questioning him and took him to his house. Ashok took him inside and make him lay down on the couch. He went and brought water and poured it on raman's face.
Raman got up at once, look around.he wiped his sweat and walked to his cupboard. He took out some pills and was about to have it when ashok stopped him and said -tune phir anti depressants pills lena shuru kar diya, tu kya kar raha hai. Tu kar kya raha hai apne saath, Raman. Itni sharab peeta hai din -raat,uspar yeh anti depressants, tujhe kuch yaad nahi rehta, Raman. Tu bhool jaa raha hai sab kuch ,tu khota jaa raha hai khud ko, mere yaar. U r looking urself.
Raman -yahin chahta hoon main, khud ko khona. Sab kuch bhool jaana. Uss dard ko, uss takleef ko. I want to forget everything, every damn thing. And u can't stop me. He said and took few pills. Gulp it with water and went back to the couch. Took the bottle and start drinking again while ashok was just looking at him seeing him getting lost in his sorrow.
Ashok -yeh kya kar diya aapne mere dost ke saath, matarani. Please send someone joh iski bikhri zindagi ko samet sake, kyunki ab mujhse nahi hota yeh sab akele. Please send someone who will make him my old confident friend, Raman bhalla. Please matarani. He was praying for raman and in hospital ishita opened her eyes.
