kajol was never a superstar. karishma, preity, rani and aish all reached number 1 spot. they didn't sustain long is different matter. karishma was bigger star in 90's than kajol was. more hits too. only female superstars were Vyjanthimala (pre-superstar era though), Mumtaz, Hema Malini, Madhuri and Sridevi

being number 1 is different from being female superstars
