Katrina Replaces PeeCee
Everyone was excited to hear that one of Priyanka Chopra's comeback projects in Bollywood would be opposite Salman Khan in the film Bharat. But, this week, we heard that PeeCee had backed out of the project at the very last minute. Director Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed this by tweeting about it but we can only guess at the actress's reason for her decision.
However, the huge silver lining to this cloud over the Bharat team is that the makers already have another big actress on board, none other than Katrina Kaif. It is well-known that Kaif has a good rapport with both the director and lead actor, Salman Khan, and it will be great to see the trio together again, after their last blockbuster Tiger Zinda Hai.
This proves that, in Bollywood, a big loss for someone can be a bigger gain for someone else.
Clash All Over Again
No matter how clichd the adage history repeats itself' may be, it couldn't be truer in our Tinsel Town. We had seen Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par clash with Akshay Kumar's Welcome when both films released during the Christmas weekend years ago, on December 21, 2007.
Now, a dozen years later, the actors will butt heads once again, and during the same holiday period.
This week, there was an announcement that Aamir Khan's production house would join hands with Bhushan Kumar's T-Series to produce Gulshan Kumar's biopic. They also shared the release date, which will be during Christmas 2019. We also heard that Akshay Kumar is getting back together with his Hera Pheri gang, to make the third instalment. Hera Pheri 3, directed by Indra Kumar and starring the original trio Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal with Kumar is also slated to release during the Christmas holidays next year. While no formal announcements have been made for the latter, it will be interesting to see if these two box office superstars do decide to clash with each other, yet again.
