If this is really what the fathers intentions were, then don't fret!
If they ever do think about making a Dhadak part 2 then you might just fit the bill of potential "foreign" dulha and Parthavi may just get to do all of the above @bold with you.😆

Just bear in mind that If you are to avoid being slam dunked from the balcony/terrace or whatever else, and who knows, the third time round could be even more grotesque and all the more atrociously spine chilling, therefore, just make sure you impress the old bugger first before you go on to do anything else with his daughter.😆

My only qualm would be-If someone had to be spared then why not the kid?

I mean, what heartless creatures man!.How can one take the life of an innocent little child, and that too their own flesh and blood!!
That was absolute gut wrench, even though I knew a tragedy was awaiting.

But then again,I haven't watched the original and just heard that it also has a tragic climax, and it was only after I watched the remake,I googled to find out what the ending of the original was like, and found out that the kid does get spared,so I guess here they had to throw in a twist for that much needed impact in order to set it apart from the original.

IDK what was the inspiration of the ending but it reminded me somewhat of a movie 'Kadhal' in Tamil. In that the girl marries another man to save the life of the lover, has a child and then sees her former lover as a beggar who is affected mentally. The husband comes to know and admits him to a mental institution. This is allegedly based on a true story narrated to the director by the girl's husband. IDK if that was sexism or more so punishing the guy and girl by separating them because of caste. More to do with "honor", family name, blah , blah than sexism.

There is also a RL incident which could be the basis of the inspiration.

This story which the guy was a dalit and girl from an upper caste. The girl survived the attempt to kill them. She testified against her family and some were awarded the death penalty. Now she is an activist.

I feel there could be a sequel to Dhadak just based on the ending. But no where did I see sexism in it.

I am in no state to even decipher the brutal ending. how can be people so heartless, Madhu did not deserve it and Parthavi, how will she live her whole life with this trauma and guilt of losing her husband and son in the hands of her criminal family?

Kisi se bhi shaadi kar lo karna toh yeh sab hai. Haven't seen the movie and probably never will, but don't understand this whole concept of love, pyaar ke liye mar mitna and all.
