A few hours later, Arjun was sitting in a hospital room. He came there everyday in hopes that the patient in the bed would show slightest signs of life. But alas he was always disappointed. The patient was connected to several machines and was on life support. Just looking at her brought a fresh batch of tears to his eyes.

"Mr. Rawte, aap aa gaye. I'm sorry but patient ki haalat mein koi sudhar nahi hai. Hume toh yeh bhi nahi pata ki yeh kabhi hosh mein aayengi bhi ya-...", before the doctor could finish, Arjun held his collar and looked at him with blazing eyes.

"Himmat kaise hui aisa bolne ki. Use kuch bhi nahi hoga samjhe tum."

The doctor got scared and frantically nodded. Arjun calmed down and released him. The doctor literally scrambled out. Arjun regained his place on the chair beside the bed and help her hand.

"Yeh sab meri wajah se hua hai. Tumhari iss haalat ka zimmedar bhi main hi hoon. Sameer sahi kehta tha...main jis ko apna manta hoon, usi ki jaan le leta hoon. I'm sorry. Bas ek baar aankhen kholke meri taraf dekho. Main vaada karta hoon sab theek kar dunga. Main use already kho chuka hoon. Tumhe bhi nahi kho sakta.", Arjun just cried holding her hand. But it seemed like the girl didn't hear a single word. After a few moments, he composed himself and left. He never noticed the tear that escaped her eyes.

That night, Arjun was standing by the window and gazing at the stars. Log kehte hai ki agar sitaaron se sache dil se kuch mango toh taarein ishara dete hain. Main aaj tumse use waapis maangta hoon. Please return her to me. I can't live without her. Aur use theek kar do. Main zindagi bhar tumhara shukar guzaar rahunga. Arjun closed his eyes and wished. Then he turned and went to bed. Unbeknownst to him, the moon and the stars sparkled as if his wishes reached them and were soon going to be fulfilled.

Next day after another sleepless night, Arjun went to his office.

At ETF office

Everyone was chit-chatting. Their bosses were not in the office and they all came early. Shree and Liza were arguing as usual. They knew each other from college and had this never-ending love-hate relationship. Chotu was eating at an inhumane pace and Ayesha was trying to get him to slow down.

Suddenly, Sakshi said, "Guys, yeh Arjun aur Sameer ab taka aye kyun nahi? Hum agar 2 second bhi late ho jaaye toh hume aise daant te hain jaise ki hum koi criminal ho."

"Dheere bol Sakshi. Agar uss SYS ne sun liya na toh teri class laga dega.", Chotu commented.

"Arey Chotu, itna kyun darta hai. SYS aur Dammit dono office mein nahi hain. Vaise ek baat bataun...mujhe lagta hai Rathod sir ka kisi ke saath chakkar chal raha hai. Jab dekho kisi ladki se phone pe baat karte rehte hain.", Shree said looking in Aisha's direction. Aisha just glared back at him.

Liza joined in. "Haan aur nahi toh kya. Rathod sir itne handsome hain ki koi bhi ladki unke peeche pagal ho jaayegi. Kyun Aisha sahi kaha na?"

Aisha was lost in her thoughts and absentmindedly nodded in yes. Everyone burst out laughing. Aisha realized what happened and blushed.

"Aur vaise bhi Specky...ladkiyan Rathod sir jaise ladkon ko hi pasand karti hain. Tumhe toh in machino ke alava koi ghas nahi daalega." Everyone started laughing harder. Shree fumed in anger and said, "Shut up Lizard. Mere gadgets ke baare mein kuch mat bolna samjhi tum. Aur ladkiyan mujhpe bhi line marti hain par tumhe kaise pata hoga...tum toh ladki ho hi nahi." Now it was Liza's turn to get mad. They started their argument again while Chotu, Aisha and Sakshi just facepalmed and broke those two up.

Just then, a girl walked in like a model. She was wearing a cream coloured blouse and a mini pencil skirt with 6inch heels. Nobody knew how she could walk without falling. She was a little mad to see that nobody noticed her presence, "Good morning guys."

Everyone stopped and turned to look at her. "Good morning Kirti ma'am.", they replied. Kirti Malhotra was the newest member of ETF and a senior inspector. The team didn't mind her much, but they didn't also trust her. She was a diva with attitude.

"Where's Sameer and Arjun? Wo abhi tak aaye nahi?", she inquired. Shree just said no and Kirti walked to her cabin with a slightly sad look.

The team started talking again.

Sakshi - Yaar yeh ma'am aise kapde pehen ke kyun aayi hai? Yeh office hai...unka fashion show nahi.

Shree - Sahi baat hai. Aur kal case ke liye bhi nahi aayi thi. Aur hume kehti hai ki hum ETF mein kuch kaam bahi karte.

Liza - Yeh toh duty ko lekar bilkul bhi serious nahi hai. Jab dekho tab office mein baith kar fashion magazines padhti rehti hain.

Aisha - Haan. Aur mere se toh nafrat karti hain. Poora din Rathod sir ke aage peeche ghumti rehti hai.

Sakshi - Arey nahi Aisha. Kirti ma'am toh Arjun pe latoo hain. Dekha nahi kaise unke kareeb jaane ke maukhe dhoondti rehti hai.

Chotu - Inko inspector banaya kisne hai? Itna toh main bhi khaane se pyaar nahi karta jitna yeh makeup se karti hain.

Everyone just gave him a look of disbelief. Suddenly Shree realized something. He said to Aisha, "Aisha are you jealous?" Aisha just blushed, and everyone started teasing her.

"Yeh kya ho raha hai yahan?" A voice came from behind. Everyone froze and slowly turned to see Arjun and Sameer standing there. It was Sameer who spoke. Arjun continued, "I don't believe this. Office mein itna kaam bacha hai aur tum log baith ke gappe lada rahe ho. Agar duty nahi karni toh apna resignation de do." Saying this, he went to his cabin.

Rathod just glared at his back and looked at his juniors. "Team aaj koi case nahi aaya hai. Tum sab kal ke case ka paperwork khatam karo. Sakshi tum media ko handle karo. Shree, I need you to combine all the recordings and technical evidences. Liza, jin criminals ko humne encounter mein mara tha unki post-mortem reports tayaar karo. Aur Kirti ko mere cabin mein bhejo. Team get to work." He also went to his cabin. Everyone started working and Aisha called Kirti to Sameer's cabin.

A few moments later, Kirti walked out of Rathod's cabin in anger. Everyone was shocked to see her so mad. When she saw the team looking at her, she started yelling, "Kya dekh rahe ho? Kabhi kisi ko gusse mein nahi dekha? Ya Sameer ki tarah tum log bhi mujhe baatein sunaoge? Raat ko so rahi thi aur case ke liye nahi aayi toh itna kuch bol diya usne. Khud ko kya samajhta hai...chief hai toh kuch bhi kahega? Main bhi senior inspector hoon. How dare he talk to me like this. Ab purane cases ki files main study karungi toh tum log kis kaam ke." She huffed and walked away. By now even Arjun and Sameer came out of their cabin. The team just stood their shocked. They slowly went back to working. Even the seniors sat with them and monitored their work.

Kirti was in the record room trying to find an interesting case. Sameer had punished her for not showing up for duty. Her punishment was that she had to study an old case and write a summary on it. A red file cover caught her eyes. She read the first page and decided that she would study that case.

She took that file with her back to the main room and was constantly looking at it. She bumped into someone and the file accidentally fell from her hands. She looked up to see it was Arjun she collided with...not that she minded. Before she could get a word out, Arjun was on his knee. Kirti went into dreamland and thought maybe Arjun was proposing her.

Arjun was going out of the conference room when someone collided with him. He looked down to see that it was Kirti and her file fell on the ground. He bent down to pick it up but froze looking at the title.

"DEADLY VIRUS: EXORA 2 CASE"
