Every warlord has dark moments...Even the greatest warlord ever known did some immoral acts...

Burning of Persipolis: the palace was majestic. The great Darius lived there. It was the most majestic architecture ever. Alexander lived in the persipolis for six months. His mother berated him for not burning the whole palace down ...She through her letters reminded him how xerexes burnt the temple of Athena. One night when Alexander was drunk wife of selucus and other women instigated Alexander. In his drunken state He burnt the whole building down. Many died. Though he asked for forgiveness next day. Sasygambis mother of darius had to come forward to sooth the emotions of Persians...

Siege of tyre: the greatest city on planet. The tyre was invincible as it was in the sea. Olympias wanted her son to worship in the temple of Zeus in tyre. Alexander asked the king of tyre to let him in but they denied. Tyre was in the sea so it was difficult to attack it. Alexander used giant catapults to destroy the walls of the city. After six months he finally entered the city. Battle happened. Standing in the river of blood Alexander worshipped Zeus.

Burning of sagodian village: Though Greek writers say that Bactrians who stole bucephalus were shown mercy. But as per the Persians Alexander burnt the whole village down along with the thiefs...

Giving head of brother to his wife (at that time girlfriend) Parysatis: mecadonian general permonian captured princes s Parysatis and her family in Damascus..she was brought before Alexander who they say fell in love with her... As they moved toward main Persian land , Parysatis brother tried to rescue her but failed. Alexander went behind him , defeated him and cut his head and gave it to Parysatis who was confined in a palace. Eight years Later Alexander married her in Susa...

Burning of Paurvas: After the battle of hydespass Paurva was on fire. Alexander and his wife Rushnak (Roxane) celebrated wildly..Alexander read illiad to his soldiers while his wife hurled abuses at the defeated..the celebration went on for seven days...

These are some of main crimes he did😲

Tyre and Persipolis were ruined mostly because of Olympias...he regretted burning of Persipolis but not the sacking of tyre...

After hydespass battle the behaviour of Roxane (Puru sister) was extremely wild and disrespectful one toward the defeated after the battle was over mostly because the battle was hard fought. Alexander didn't celebrate after the victories in Persia but here he celebrated for week. The king porus was allowed to reside in his palace with his daughters...He joins Alexander after a month...

Not much is written about Parysatis...but in few books she is shown as beautiful as Roxane..though not as strong minded... Roxane kills her and Barsine after olympias declares Roxane the only wife of her son while Barsine and Parysatis were relegated to concubines by olympias...

Now see the similarity between Sony Barsine and Praysatis...Puru like her brother comes for her rescue...fails, Alexander chases promises to give his head...kahin CVS ne Galti to nahin kardi😆 did they screw up😕 tabhi barsine meri pyari Barsine ko gayab kardiya...she too got head but of her father

Most of what you have listed were commonplace, if horrible, in the wars of those days, and in fact right down to WWII. The Japanese sacking of Nanking was far, far worse than anything you have mentioned here, and the American firebombing of German cities during WW II and the napalm bombing of the Vietnamese were also much more brutal.

The sacking of Thebes, which you have left out of your list, is well known. It was indeed cruel, but it was intended as a measure to frighten the other Greeks into instant submission, and it worked, and probably saved thousands of other lives that would have been lost before the Greeks were subdued.

The successful siege of Tyre was one of Alexander's most celebrated military exploits. As for your "river of blood", you sound exactly like the Junior Priestess of Delphi!😉 Of course there must have been thousands dead, but you make it sound as if he had a channel built for enough blood to collect for him to stand in!

River of blood is indeed written by writers 😆yes it was his greatest conquest... By the way Parysatis and other women are well documented in series archeamenid women and Maria brosius books...
