Chapter 3
Shaurya's armed cars and SUV's entered sharma residence. Shaurya got out of the car and dragged mehak out. "Sharma family come out!'' His voice was high and powerful. Ramesh and sunita came running outside. "Mehak meri bacchi!'' Cried sunita when she saw her handcuffs. "Stop mom! I deserve this! I'm ready for whatever punishment Shaurya throws at me.'' Cried mehak. Shaurya smirked. "I like that miss sharma! Mr Lawyer,get me the papers!'' Ordered Shaurya. His highly paid lawyer presented the documents to him. "Mr sharma,you your family and your precious little daughter played with my feelings and emotions. She lied and stabbed me behind my back. Hence my heart pierced and bled. Your pretty daughter broke my trust Mr sharma and right now the only thing I have in my heart for her is HATRED! I won't let her go away with this...She needs to be punished for the deeds she did. Unfortunately the punishment has to be in London,for that she's coming with me.'' Tears rolled down Mehak's cheeks. "You can't take my daughter forcefully..we will not send her with you!'' Cried Ramesh. "Fine then! I'm firing you and your beautiful wife from khanna textiles right now! And Move out from this house given to you by the company. And one more thing! I'll buy this village and all the villages surrounding it. You won't have place to live Mr sharma,you'll end up on the street.'' Warned Shaurya. Karuna ma Who was watching all this quietly finally intervened. "Shaurya what are you saying? You can't do that! Let it be beta..let's forget everything and go from here.'' "Just a minute Mom! Do you know who Maahi is?'' Asked Shaurya with blood shot eyes. "I know who she is...she is...'' Before Karuna could finish what she was saying Shaurya cut her off. "She is the one who cheated on my brother and eloped with the one who's child she's carrying! Bloody hell!'' Mehak's eyes widened at the revelation. Ashamed,Ramesh and sunita lowered their heads. "Don't look at me like that miss sharma! Your sister who was raised in London by your masi faked falling in love with my brother. And you already know what happened on the wedding day...'' Shaurya's voice was brittle. Mehek ran to her mom. "Is it true mom? Did Maahi Di...'' Sunita nodded her head in yes. "But we didn't know it was Shaurya's brother...your Di told us few days back that it was Shaurya's brother. At the time of the wedding your dad was sick and in hospital that's why we couldn't attend the wedding or even see the groom. Your masi had taken all the responsibility as she had raised Maahi since she was very little.'' For the first time mehak regretted being maahi's sister. "See miss sharma! Betrayal is in your blood! First it was your sister and now you!'' He handed her the documents. "My brother couldn't take the betrayal so he committed suicide but I'm different miss sharma! I'll make you pay by making your life a living hell! Read and sign the documents. Mr lawyer,explain the things written on the paper.'' Lawyer nodded and explained the documents to mehak. "Miss sharma,basically this the power of attorney. By signing the forms you are giving full access to Shaurya sir to control your life and make decisions on your behalf or do anything to you...In other words he will own you from today.'' Mehak was dumbstruck. Shaurya removed her handcuffs. "Sign!'' He ordered. "Sign kardo Beta! For our sake?''(sign it mehak). Her dad yelled. Shaurya whispered in Mehak's ears. "Your parents are selfish and greedy! They chose their job and this house over you mehak!'' Mehak looked at her parents and then at Shaurya with teary eyes. "Sign the papers then I'll tell you why they are like this.'' Mehak signed the documents and gave it to Shaurya. "Good girl! Now you are mine! Completely mine!'' He chuckled with an evil smirk. "Are you ready to hear the bitter truth? Miss sharma?'' "I am!'' Answered mehak. "These two people whom you call your mom and dad are not your biological parents. They found you and your sister at a festival back in London. You both were lost. Your masi raised Maahi and these two raised you.'' Mehak felt like the earth moving from under her feet. She looked at her mom for answers. Her parents couldn't make an eye contact with her. "Miss sharma,I know who your parents are but I will not tell you. Consider it part of your punishment.'' Her head spun. Darkness covered her and she fell but Shaurya caught her. She passed out in Shaurya's arms.
When mehak opened her eyes,she found herself in Shaurya's private jet which was heading towards London. Reality struck her when she slowly recalled the events that took place few hours back. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She choked back a cry when her eyes fell on Shaurya sitting beside her reading a magazine. "Where is Karuna ma?'' She asked softly. "She stayed behind. Wait a minute! Don't tell me you are expecting to see mom around you all the time!'' Mehak gave him a questionable look. "Won't she be around?'' Shaurya smirked. "Mom doesn't live with me miss sharma! I live on my own. My Manson is surrounded by the jungle of London with few servants around and from now on my girlfriends will also join me.'' Mehak didn't like the sound of girlfriends. Shaurya continued. "Don't expect Mom or anyone else to come for your rescue Understood?'' Mehak blinked back her tears. "Can you tell me if my parents are in London? Please?'' Shaurya looked at her pleading face. "Yes they are! And I freaking know them very well!'' Mehak's face lit up at once and she wanted to ask some more but Shaurya raised his hand in the mid air to stop her. "That's it miss sharma! This conversation is over!'' Mehak's countenance fell. "We are landing in 10 minutes!'' Announced his private pilot. Mehak squeezed her eyes shut and held her seat as the plane started to descend. "Scared?'' Asked Shaurya. "Hmm.'' Is all she could utter. "Get use to it miss sharma! This is just the beginning!'' Mehak gulped and hung on to the seat. "Shaurya,did you ever love me?'' She asked softly. "It doesn't matter now! Open your eyes we have landed.'' He told her sternly. They both got out of the plane. Shaurya grasped her arm and dragged her with him. "Your RDX is parked outside sir.'' His guard told him by the door. As soon as they got inside Shaurya blind folded her. "I wanna see..please remove this thing!'' Cried mehak. "Shut up and sit!'' His deep voice gave her goose flesh. "I'm scared of the dark...'' she said softly and reached for Shaurya's arm and held on to it. Shaurya tried to shrug her hands off but she wouldn't let go. "Mehak let my arm go!'' Her hold tightened on his arm. "I won't! Do whatever you want to do!'' Her raised tone silenced him for the first time. "Bloody hell!'' Gnashing his teeth in anger he sat there with her leaning on him. Soon his RDX was parked in front of his mansion surrounded by the deep forests. He removed the blind fold from her eyes and dragged her out. "Is it ready?'' He Asked his guard. "Yes sir it's ready.'' Answered his guard and showed him the way. Mehak's mouth dropped open when she saw the size of the mansion. "Zyada Khush Mat ho (don't get too excited) you'll not be staying in the mansion.'' Shaurya told her as he dragged her behind the building. "Then where will I stay?'' Mehak panicked. "In the CAGE!'' His guard opened the door of which looked like a villa to mehak. Shaurya pushed her inside and she fell on the floor covered with pink rug. "This is your home from today miss sharma! Unfortunately your home is monitored by cameras and secured by bars so that you can not escape. If you do run away remember I'll find you and your punishment will be doubled.'' He tossed a cell phone at her. "Only number you can call is mine,all other access are blocked. A maid will attend to you everyday. You'll get fresh fruits and vegetables every morning so cook your own meals.'' Mehak looked at him from the floor with teary eyes. "This is how you gonna punish me by locking me up?'' Shaurya chuckled. "Not really miss sharma. I have other ways of punishment planned for you.'' Mehak trembled from his threats. "Have a wonderful day in your cage miss sharma! Guards,lock the doors!'' The guards followed orders and locked the door. Everyone left leaving her caged in that luxurious little cottage. Mehak cried at her destiny/fate and fell asleep on the floor.
Back to the present...
Sitting there in the wooden cottage mehak was engrossed in her thoughts when a knock on the door broke her reverie. A key was inserted in the lock and turned. Mehak quickly stood up and composed herself thinking it was Shaurya. The door opened and a girl around her age entered the room with uncountable shopping bags. "Hi I'm Sonal your maid. Shaurya sir sent you your new clothing and accessories. Go freshen up and wear these.'' Sonal placed the bags on her bed. "You'll be eating with Shaurya sir tonight so don't worry about cooking anything.'' Mehak's heart jumped to her throat. "Really? Did he say he'll be eating with me?'' Asked mehak excitedly. "Yes he did! But don't you get too excited..he brought you here to torture you! And torture is no fun! I'll see you tomorrow morning.'' Saying That Sonal left locking her in. "The more he tortures me the more I'll fall in love with him.'' Said mehak and dug into the shopping bags. Mehak liked what he bought for her. "I'll do whatever you say..may be someday you'll fall for me again.'' With a smile she left to shower not knowing her smile was about to turn into sadness. Later that night the door of the cage opened and a butler entered pushing a trolley full of food. She was just about to ask him about Shaurya when the man himself walked in with a girl leaning on his arm. He stood there, all six feet plus of him, his elegant, rangy body tense. The sight of him was like a visceral blow. She swallowed . . . and let her hungry gaze eat him up. Inky hair hanging on his forehead, jeans hugging him in all the right places. Those dark, burning eyes. A hot flush swept up her body. Her heart didn't just start racing faster; it careened out of control. Far more than her palms went damp. She swayed in dizzy excitement. His amused smile said he was aware she'd been checking him out and didn't mind in the least. "Hi miss sharma! Hows your day so far?'' Mehak didn't answer but was glaring at the girl beside him. "By the way you look amazing in that dress.'' Mehak still didn't answer. "Your dinner is here,have it! I'll see you tomorrow. But before I go..is there anything you need?'' Asked Shaurya. "I thought you were eating with me.'' Mahek said softly. Shaurya smirked. "You think too much miss sharma! I had no intention to eat with you.'' He walked to the window and opened the drapes. "I'll be eating in the lawn with my date,you can watch us from here.'' Mehak's heart pinched. "Date?'' Mehak was about to cry. Shaurya pulled the girl close to him. "She's my date for tonight!'' He winked at mehak and walked away to the lawn with the girl on his arm. "Lock the door behind me!'' He ordered the butler and the butler obeyed. With Tears swimming in her eyes mehak ran to the window to watch him. Lawn was decorated nicely with lights. A table with candlelight was set for the two to dine. Shaurya pulled the chair for his date to sit and at the same time he glanced in the direction of the cottage. Before she could be spotted,mehak moved away from the window. "Please don't do things that will make me hate you Shaurya...'' she closed the drapes and came to her bedroom. "If this is his punishment for me then it's really gonna hurt me deeply..'' mehak fell on the bed and sobbed. Her helpless heart didn't let her Rest In Peace. she got up to see what they were doing. She peeked from the drapes and saw them dancing. His hands were all over her. With an angry pout she stomped her feet and punched the wall. Her knuckles hurt and bled. Fury enveloped her even as tears poured down her face, clouding her vision.. "Go to hell Shaurya Khanna!'' Swearing under her breath she got into her pyjamas. Pushing the food trolley to the door she came back to her room and slept. She had lost her appetite and was very disturbed by Shaurya's behaviour. The loud music couldn't let her sleep. Pressing a pillow to her ears she tossed and turned. It was past midnight when she fell asleep.
Next morning when Sonal came in with fruits and veggies she found the food trolley untouched. "Mehak! Where are you! Didn't you eat last night? Hello!'' Calling for her Sonal entered her bedroom to find her fast asleep. "Poor soul must be tired from the storm in her life..l'll let her sleep some more.'' Pushing the trolley she left locking the door behind her. Shaurya was getting out of the mansion when he saw Sonal coming from the cottage. "Is mehak ok?'' He asked her. "She's sleeping sir so I don't know.'' Shaurya saw the food on the trolley. "Didn't she eat last night?'' "Not at all! She didn't even drink anything. I'm worried about dehydration.'' Sonal told him. "Check on her a little later and feed her something.'' Shaurya told her and left for work. During the day Shaurya called mahek but she didn't pick up any of his calls. His temperature rose. "I'll teach you a lesson today miss sharma! Next time you'll not waste a minute to answer my freaking calls!'' He came home around supper time. He found Sonal and the other maids in the kitchen. "Sonal,did you check on miss sharma?'' Sonal's eyes widened. "Oh God no! I'm so sorry sir ...I had so much to do here that checking on her slipped out of my mind.'' "Bloody hell! I hired you for mehak and not to clean the mansion! I'll make sure you don't get paid for today! Bloody idiots!'' Fuming with anger he rushed towards the cottage. Guards opened the door and let him in. "Mehak! Miss sharma!'' Calling her name he entered her room. Mehak was still sleeping. He sighed in relief and touched her forehead. Her body was burning with temperature! "Shit! She has a fever! Mehak get up!'' He shook her gently. Mehak opened her eyes feebly to find his face just above hers. "Tum? What you doing here?'' She tried to pull her blanket up to her neck. "Don't ask me stupid questions mehak! I own this place idiot!'' He walked to the nightstand and poured some water in a glass. "Drink this! You look dehydrated.. I'll go call a doctor.'' Mehak recalled his last nights date and the scene she witnessed in the lawn. Her blood boiled and she threw the glass on the floor. "What the hell!'' Before he could manhandle her she kicked him missing his private by inches. Shaurya shot her a deadly look. "I don't need you or your doctor Mr Shaurya Khanna! I'm perfectly fine! You are the one that needs a check up and not me!'' Mehak snapped at him. "Bloody hell!'' He made her sit up forcefully and tied her hands. "Now if you open your mouth I'll tape it!'' Mehak made an ugly face at him. Ignoring her he called for a doctor. "Don't take me for granted mr khanna! I'll irritate you so much that you'll regret locking me up.'' Mehak said softly. "Kuch kaha tumne?(did you say something?) Asked Shaurya when he saw her lips moving. "You just came from work, You should be freshening up and having supper by now but you came to see me leaving your dates and girlfriends ..and everything else behind. Yeh pyaar nai toh kya hai? ( is not this love?) Asked mehak while blinking back her tears. Shaurya hung up the call and walked towards her. His huge hand grasped her neck. "Pyaar jaay bhaad mein! (To hell with love!) you got it? Nafrat karta Hun main Tum se miss sharma! Nafrat!'' (I hate you miss sharma! I hate you) He screamed. "Beautiful liar! Look into my eyes and tell me that you hate me.'' Mehak managed to ask. He left her neck and moved away showing his back to her. Mehak laughed. "Locking me away in this beautiful cottage will only bring us closer Shaurya. You can not get rid of me,not now not ever!'' Shaurya turned pointing his finger at her wanting to say something bad but they were interrupted by the doctor. Doc examined mehak while Shaurya freed her hands. "Doctor Saab,can you examine him as well? He needs you more than I do.'' Said mehak. Shaurya glared at her angrily. Mehak teased him with another ugly face. "Teri toh!'' Shaurya's palm balled into a fist. Doctor looked at him with a raised brow. "Don't look at me! Do your job! She's the patient and not me!'' Doctor composed himself and continued the examination. Mehak giggled but stopped when doctor announced needles for her. "No no no! No needles please! I'm ok..I'll ..I'll eat my food and drink lots of fluids...I'll be fine.'' Pleaded mehak. Shaurya crossed his arms over his wide chest. His biceps bulged under his body-hugging black T-shirt. He really was gorgeous. Mehak tried to breathe normally to steady her heart's rate. It was Shaurya's turn to laugh. "Darpok Kahi ki! Give her two needles doctor!'' Mehak tried to sprint from there but Shaurya caught her and held her to his chest. "Go ahead doctor!'' Ordered Shaurya. Being enveloped in Shaurya's steely strength was paradise. He reached out to her back, caressing his large hand down her arm in a soothing gesture. "Be still!'' His voice penetrated her in a stream of clear, erotic, full moon light,her body flushed with sudden longing. "Shaurya...'' she said his name softly. Shh. He looked into her eyes, his own the shade of pitch black, intent and sharp. He placed a fingertip very lightly against her lips. She stared at him, ensorcelled. It was a very good reason to stand quietly, passively as he laid his thumb on the wing of her collarbone. His gaze dropped to follow the trailing stroke of his thumb. The backs of his knuckles brushed her breastbone. He seemed only curious. Harmless. Intent on following the slope of her breast. She licked her dry lips. His mouth dropped inches to hers. She clutched his shirt,her fingernails scratching his flesh through the opening just below his neck. He was about to capture her juicy lips with his when the doctor cleared his throat. "All done Mr khanna! I'll take my leave. Please make sure she gets to eat and drink a lot of fluids.'' Doctor left with a guard. "Sometimes I wonder if you're for real. You're just too damn "Too damn what?'' She asked. "Too damn nothing!'' He walked away from her. "Go freshen up I'll call for dinner.'' Mehak just stared at him while he ordered food on the phone. He hung up when his gaze fell on the smashed security cameras. "Bloody hell! How dare you destroy the cameras?'' He fumed. "Because I walk naked in the bedroom after shower...I don't wish you or your security guards to see me walking around stripped!'' Mehak saw a slight blush on his face and he couldn't look in her direction. Mehak suppressed a laughter. "You are unbelievable miss sharma!'' He left towards the door. "Have your dinner when it arrives. You'll need energy for tomorrow.'' He said. "What is it tomorrow?'' She asked. "My business partners are coming over for dinner. I am throwing a party at the mansion. And you will be the cook! You will cook,clean and serve!'' Mehak's eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you kidding me?'' He turned towards her. "No I'm not miss sharma! Consider it your punishment number 1!'' With an evil smirk he walked away locking her in once again. "I'll murder you someday Shaurya Khanna!'' She stomped her feet in anger.
