She's one of the most beautiful women on the planet.

But Priyanka Chopra has described beauty as 'a necessary evil' in a new interview with Allure for their digital cover package.

The 35-year-old former Miss World winner also admitted that while growing up she originally wanted to be an engineer before realizing 'girl, you can't pass a reflective surface without looking at yourself.'

Despite her reservations about beauty, the Quantico star admitted, 'I'm also the kind of girl who likes to be turned out. I like to get dressed up.'

The girlfriend of Nick Jonas added, 'I'm not saying become vain and narcissistic. But I'm saying sometimes, you just need a moment.'

The Baywatch actress' entry to the pageant world began when her mother sent photos of her to the Miss India pageant committee.

'[My mother] thought those soft-focus pictures were real cute. They weren't,' said Chopra.

However the Indian beauty went on to later win the 2000 Miss World pageant.

After that victory, she accepted offers to join the Indian film industry and quickly became a Bollywood star.

In 2015, Chopra began starring as Alex Parrish on the ABC TV drama Quantico, becoming the first South Asian to headline an American network drama series.

She is set to star in the forthcoming comedy Isn't It Romantic, alongside Australian actor Liam Hemsworth.

Jonas has finally confirmed that he and Priyanka are indeed an item via social media.

The 25-year-old musician took the huge step of sharing a post to Instagram of the raven-haired beauty.

In the video, which was actually a Story, Priyanka can be seen walking in a spaghetti strap top with a low-cut neckline which was paired with a matching skirt.
