I just want to ask something Why is Bollywood obsessed with love stories? What's the deal? In a cinematic world of noir,biopics,space adventures,superhero genre, virtual reality,time travel Why is no one making movies on these topics? It's high time we need new stories now.

Also the horror movies are more about sex than actual horror Yes, we know this country has a limited audience for such topics, but who knows, if we will get used to such movies People will start accepting new stories.

Some movies like Rocket singh, 13B, 24, Trapped, spyder even bhavesh joshi Tried turning the tide but it did not result in much Just imagine a indian pre-historic fictional adventure or a desi dystopian movie Someone SHOULD TRY.

Also if you want us to watch love stories, make movies like JAANE TU YA JAANE NA Geniuine,heartwarming, funny story about 2 friends falling in love Perfect example of a good rom-com movie

I agree with what he says, but who are the actors ?

We already have time travel. Our buda heroes travel back in time age wise for nubile young women a generation younger. 🤔

Imagine the cast of Race 3 for star wars. 😵

Try casting the Avengers. Just pick a cast from current BW.

If you had an Indian version of Harry Potter casting today who do you think it will be filled with ? Star kids.

We can't even get a proper cast for Mahabharata.

See pattern here. When an Avengers or a Star Wars is cast we have an international cast like Lupita, Daisy Ridley, Chris Hemsworth. They do a genuine audition and pick the person that is right for the part irrespective of nationality and certainly family name.

Here we don't even have outsiders getting cast in the parts. Dharma can't even translate a regional movie like Sairat into BW version without making it fake and candy flossy. So who the hell will pay for any story BW churns if the actors are crap.

You will get repeats of Bhavesh Joshi. A different kind of film with a good story but no one turned up. It made 1.5 crores total BO. Was it Harsh ? Will they have come for a different actor like Vikrant Massey? People did pay 2.5 crores to see Rajkumar Rao in Trapped.

First audition, then cast properly. Unless nepotism goes away don't even compare with HW. When there are people like KJO who cannot tell a proper Indian story and must fantasize everything not gonna happen. I am not going to pay for mediocrity. People pirate more than watch. Fix BW and then we can talk.

Vikrant Massey siiigh. Truly wish he did more films!!

I do agree with what he's saying. But love stories & love songs & love in general is a human obsession. I wish they, esp BW would show different shades of a love story!! Either they show the same dead tropes or never delve into the meat of the story, don't eat it & spit out the bones; but just nibble on it & set it aside. So unsatisfactory. I don't blame them for their obsession for a genre when most are obsessed with it but their treatment of it. Rocket Singh was a good film, on e of RK's best performances yet, I watched in the theatre.. Along with some 40-60 other people. On a weekend. Lol. So when different cinema is made people do not really come to the theatres & fill seats even when you've a very good & erstwhile commercial actor like Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role. So forget about lesser actors.
