It's been so long since I have commented for someone's work in the forum.
The concept reminds me of a fairy tale called King Thrushbeard, wherein a spoilt, insolent princess mocks him in front of all her other eligible suitors and guests because he had a beard like a thrush's beak (hence the name Thrushbeard, which was given by the princess herself).
But he was by then in love and still wanted to marry only her and therefore resorts to marry her as a normal subject,then break her arrogance and finally reveals his real identity at the end. Then as you have it, they both had their happily ever after.
As interesting as it surely will be, drawing comparisons between the two plots would make it a far more interesting read.
I am glad you brought this concept and undoubtedly, I am awaiting an update at the earliest.
