Him sleeping in her room was a regular thing now. Ever since that fateful night with just a little too much medicine to drink, Aditya shared feelings with Zoya that he had never disclosed to anyone before, not even himself. You see, Aditya was a firm believer of the philosophy: if you don't see it, it doesn't exist. Therefore, he kept his feelings hidden, even from himself. But alas, the medicine worked. If you had asked the Adi of before, freshly wounded from the betrayal of his best friend and wife, the Adi who couldn't sleep for more than a few hours at night because thoughts of Pooja and Yash would cloud his subconscious mind, the Adi who couldn't look in a rear-view mirror without the image of his wife and her boyfriend in his mind, that Adi would've told you that he had had too much medicine that night and that he regretted everything. But this Adi - this Adi could not be more grateful that he has a knack for not listening to Zoya's instructions (Zoya, on the other hand, would have a few things to say about Adi's inability to follow simple instructions: "For gods sake Adi, the Aditya, of course, was let go of along with the animosity between the two, "for once if you would have listened to me and followed a map, we wouldn't be lost in the middle of nowhere!) But going back to that night, Adi shared his biggest pains with a girl who might finally understand where he's coming from: after all, she underwent the same pain he did. A desperate plea to help save him, to a soul who didn't even know how to save herself, and the most peaceful sleep either of them had in a while. That changed things for Adi. He started looking at Zoya through a new light. Before that night, Adi had known that Pooja cheating on him wasn't Zoya's fault, but he didn't fully understand, or believe it himself; no matter what he told anyone else. After that fateful night, Adi had tried his best to stay away from Zoya, but one night, after a particularly bad fight with Mr. Hooda, he found himself once again breaking into Zoya's room - this time, completely sober. To say that Zoya was shocked would be an understatement. But she saw his dishevelled state, and couldn't bear to kick him out, lest he try something as drastic as she did. So, she invited him in, and he vented, and she listened, and then she vented, and he listened. Before long, it was morning, and both Aditya and Zoya were left with slightly lighter chests and smiles on their faces. This lead to increasingly frequent visits (in increasingly creative ways) for late nights at Zoya's house. Sometimes the conversations included indulging in a late-night craving (ice cream, or some left over dinner in the fridge), other times, Adi would grab Zoya, and the two would sneak out to nowhere in particular: just enjoying the city and each others company. Most of the time, however, would be spent crammed in Zoya's room talking about anything and everything. Conversations between Adi and Zoya would range from meaningful about the betrayal of their respective partners, and how the other is dealing with it, to work related, if a client was being particularly stressful, to about each other's days if they hadn't seen each other, to completely nonsensical (Adi is still trying to convince Zoya to start watching Marvel movies). But these conversations helped bring Aditya and Zoya together; the duo understood each other like no one ever could and had even developed a way to talk with simple gestures and expressions. The office staff, on the other hand, thought it was some serious telepathy. Of course, the sneaking around wasn't completely unnoticed. Noor had walked in on Adi staying in Zoya's room one too many times and was bribed with insane amounts of chocolate and favours to keep her mouth shut. She also assisted the man that she hoped may become her jiju escape from the ever-watchful eye of Mahi too many times to count. She may have not liked Aditya in the beginning, but he made her sister laugh now and the few conversations she'd had with him made her believe that Adi wasn't a bad guy at all; the situation he was in just made him a little rough around the edges. But that roughness was also starting to fade. Just as Zoya's laughter had returned, Adi's belief in the world had too. He started looking forward to going out and meeting people, rather than isolating himself and hiding his true emotions under a thick layer of sarcasm and arrogance. What used to be curt conversations consisting of snide remarks, and angrily screaming at one another, had turned into playful banter, with meaningful conversation to go with it. Both Adi and Zoya knew that they were on a path of something more than friendship, but they weren't ready to face the implications of that, not just yet. However, both of them would often think the same thing to themselves when alone: Who knew a few stolen moments with the right person could heal all wounds?
