😕
I watched it today, such a good movie, fast paced, good actors...yes there were no item songs or unnecessary fight scenes...but I don't get it...it didn't connect with the audience...why?

Have not watched it
but in general there are movies where people dont want to give a chance . I dont understand this audience behaviour

For Alia's Raazi they could flock in theatres on first day and contribute 6 crores. The trailer was good i agree. But has Alia been so popular with Dulhania movies that people want to see her?

So why not for sid malhotra?
varun, alia and sid are all same in acting department..

if the opening would have been good, i think something could have worked better

Its more to do with TOI promotion & great script than Alia Bhatt. I live in chennai , a city where majority population rarely watch Bollywood films. I have been reading TOI for a decade. For the first time I noticed how a film was promoted for almost 15 days continuously on its front page with interviews of alia, her mom and daily updates about the film. If this is the case in chennai, then it must have been same across India. At least 10 million ppl read TOI on daily basis. From what I read it was widely promoted on all their English & Hindi newspapers .Reason: Vineet Jain aka Times group MD is one of the producers of the film.

Aiyyary was very disappointing for me, considering it was directed by Neeraj Pandey who made such neat, gripping thrillers like A Wednesday, Baby, Special 26 and also the biopic Dhoni, inspite of being too long was quite riveting.
But Aiyyary story and screenplay was all over the place, the editing was bad, the plot development was confusing, characters reactions were unrealistic.

Manoj and Sid acted well, but somehow the whole plot and its conclusion was not convincing.
I only liked the last part abt Naseeruddin and the dog's story, that was very cute and that was the crux of the story, how the corrupt Army officers deviously took over the building that was being made for army widows.
That was another reason it failed at the BO, because under the current socio-political scenario, any movie showing corrupt army officers will not be acceptable.

Are you serious ,it was such a terrible movie. I couldn't even complete it. There was no head or tail of the movie. And it was such a big disappointment coming from neeraj pandey.

Simply because it was bad.
It was the length of an Ashutosh Gowariker film. The flashbacks were so unnecessary. It is like no one ever edited the film.

There was no true character motivation. Why were any of the characters doing anything they did?

Infact, point kya tha film. What were they even trying to say?
