I know this is not exactly related to Bollywood but am going to post it nonetheless 😆 How many of you watch Breakfast with Champions? Gaurav is a pretty good host and seems to make most of the guys comfortable enough to chill and open up. He recently did an episode with Sachin and it was frankly one of the most nostalgic and fun interviews I have watched in recent times. I usually avoid interviews involving actors esp. those with the usual journos but from what I have seen, Breakfast with Champions is head and shoulders above most of these other lame talk shows which are either annoyingly boring and fake or gimmicky and full of stupid questions and lame gossip like KWK. For anyone who is interested, here is the latest episode with Sachin-

Sachin's journey, his humility, those tiny little anecdotes involving everyone from Wasim to Gavaskar to Nehra to Ganguly to MSD, his equation with Anjali (least publicized relationship yet they seem to have a rock solid marriage) etc. were all so endearing to listen to. I think most 90s kids would find it super fascinating because we have literally lived through a lot of these moments- his milestones, his injuries, the pressure, the craze and everything more. I don't see any of it these days. I mean I love Virat but its just not the same anymore. I don't know if its nostalgia and prejudice but there was genuinely something magical about the 90s. Or its just the effect of watching the interview and rewinding some parts multiple times 😆

Oh Roger, what have done. 90s ,nostalgia and Sachin. Cricket for me still is about him only. The passion, dedication, humility and he is so child-like. The vada pao thing and his reverence for his Guru. I love how he would buy same things as his parents for his uncle and aunty.Adore Anjali and him and what a trick question that was.Gaurav is fun and I love these interviews because they are all so chilled and relaxed.Such laid back vibes and all about memories. But samosa pao and vada pao cracked me up.

Ashish Nehra one was so bloody hilarious and he is such a Legend , bas.I love,ed the latest one with Dhawan too, candid and so endearing.

Haha. I really liked that bit where he spoke about Anjali attending her first cricket match. He scored a duck and she quietly walked away and then attended only his last match. Anjali comes across as such a classy woman. They may not be hyped like Virat-Anushka or even Rohit-Ritika because Sachin was never into extravagant gestures and Anjali avoided the lime light like plague (and there was no social media back in the day) yet you can just tell they have a good marriage going on. I really do miss watching Sachin bat 🥺

I read these bunch of quotes under the YT video and its such an amazing compilation. Made me even more nostalgic if thats possible 😆

1. "Sachin Tendulkar has carried the burden of the nation for 21 years. It is time we carried him on our shoulders Virat Kohli after India won the 2011 World Cup
2. "I have seen God, he bats at no. 4 for India Matthew Hayden
3. I saw him playing on television and was struck by his technique, so I asked my wife to come look at him. Now I never saw myself play, but I felt that this player is playing with a style similar to mine, and she looked at him on Television and said yes, there is a similarity between the two...his compactness, technique, stroke production it all seemed to gel! Sir Donald Bradman
4. "I am fortunate that I've to bowl at him only in the nets! Anil Kumble
5. "We did not lose to a team called India. We lost to a man called Sachin Mark Taylor, during the test match in Chennai (1997) 6. "India me aap Prime Minister ko ek baar katghare me
khada kar sakte hain. Par Sachin Tendulkar par ungli nahi utha Sakte. Navjot Singh Sidhu 7. Harder he works, the luckier he gets Ian Chappell
8. I'll be going to bed having nightmares of Sachin just running down the wicket and belting me back over the head for six. He was unstoppable. I don't think anyone, apart from Don Bradman, is in the same class as Sachin Tendulkar. He is just an amazing player Shane Warne
9. I think he is marvellous. I think he will fit in whatever category of Cricket that has been played or will be played, from the first ball that has ever been bowled to the last ball that's going to be. He can play in any era and at any level. I would say he's 99.5% perfect Viv Richards on Sachin Tendulkar
10. Beneath the helmet, under that unruly curly hair, inside the cranium, there is something we don't know, something beyond scientific measure. Something that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that, forget us, even those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot even fathom. When he goes out to bat, people switch on their television sets and switch off their lives BBC Sports, on Sachin Tendulkar
11. Twenty20 cricket is the dessert and you can't survive on that. Who wants to eat only desserts? Sachin Tendulkar on T20 cricket
12. He is a perfectly balanced batsman and knows perfectly well when to attack and when to play defensive cricket. He has developed the ability to treat bowlers all over the world with contempt and can destroy any attack with utmost ease Greg Chappell
13. He has defined cricket in his fabulous, impeccable manner. He is to batting what Shane Warne is to bowling Richie Benaud
14. India's fortune will depend on how many runs the little champion scores. There is no doubt Tendulkar is the real thing Sunil Gavaskar
15. "There are 2 kind of batsmen in the world. One Sachin Tendulkar. Two all the others Andy Flower
16. "Sachin Tendulkar has often reminded me of a veteran army colonel who has many medals on his chest to show how he has conquered bowlers all over the world Allan Donald
17. "On a train from Shimla to Delhi, there was a halt in one of the stations. The train stopped by for few minutes as usual. Sachin was nearing century, batting on 98. The passengers, railway officials, everyone on the train waited for Sachin to complete the century. This Genius can stop time in India! Peter Roebuck
18. If I've to bowl to Sachin, I'll bowl with my helmet on. He hits the ball so hard Dennis Lillee
19. Sachin is a genius. I'm a mere mortal Brian Lara
20. When you bowl at him you are not just trying to get him out, you are trying to impress him. "I want him to walk off thinking that Flintoff, he's all right isn't he? I feel privileged to have played against him Andrew Flintoff
21. Don't bowl bad balls he hits the good ones for fours Michael Kasprowicz
22. Why did you get out to such a silly shot? Anjali Tendulkar wasn't very happy with her husband's shot selection
23. What we need is 10 Tendulkars Paul Strang
24. Today, he showed the world why he is considered the best batsman around. Some of the shots he played were simply amazing. Earlier, opposing teams used to feel that Sachin's dismissal meant they could win the game. Today, I feel that the Indian players, too, feel this way Wasim Akram
25. You might pitch a ball on the off stump and think you have bowled a good ball and he walks across and hits it for two behind midwicket. His bat looks so heavy but he just waves it around like it's a toothpick. Brett Lee

Aren't you supposed to thank me for reminding you of this?
I love this episode. The best part was him saying "Yeh topi kisi aur ko pehnao, yeh Shivaji park ka vada pav nahi hai". 😆 What a humble soul, I love how chill and relaxed he looks in this interview.

Nehraji was the boss in his episode though. What a bomb it was. Best episode till date. 😎

I was actually going to add a thank you note but wasn't sure if you will check here so let it be and thought I can thank you on twitter 🤣 Thank you Maya. One good thing you did yesterday and one of those rare occasions when you displayed good taste 👏

Haha Nehra was awesome. Those over enthusiastic hi-fives, his reaction to social media and how someone offered to pay him for tweeting etc. had me in splits. I think Virat mentioned that he wasn't sure of this show but decided to do it after watching Nehra's episode 😆 Which reminds me (fangirl plug-in), Virat's episode was amazing too 😳😆

How can we miss that daant wala pun for Nehra ji. 😆. Such sports they are. I think all the episodes have been decent till now, even the non cricket celebrities. I really enjoyed Leander's episode but it was too short. Don't like Rohit Sharma but his episode was also cute. I wish he could get Dhoni too. But reading all those never ending comments about "bring dhoni" under every video, makes me a little uncomfortable mentioning it here. 😆

I hope they bring Dhoni with Ziva. You know my feelings about MSD (I don't really mind him anymore though 😆) but he and Ziva are super cute together. Such a happy child and fathers with their lil daughters is the most adorable thing ever ❤️

Did you watch this IG vid he uploaded a few weeks back?
