I agree if Harshad was cast opposite somebody else we woudn't have got such awesome chemistry. I think he is very comfortable and at ease working with her

As far as the scene goes, it switched from a comic scene to intense very swiftly.. But it was not abrupt. Aditya's demeanour changed suddenly because Zoya said exactly what Pooja used to tell him- Grow up/ Bade ho jao..

Those words triggered that intense reaction from Aditya and he was reminded again of the betrayal by Pooja... Those words from Zoya made him say that he was always a child and that Pooja had loved him for all that childishness..

I would really like to see Zoya thinking about Aditya and possibly change her view that he is not that trouble maker that she thinks him to be and that they can be friendly.

I think, viewers felt that scene abrupt from not that point.

I felt it abrupt when he told Zoya to heal him. There she was only telling him to leave her house, and he suddenly became sad and that followed the emotional breakdown. How telling him to leave could trigger him to request her to heal him?😕 Maybe it was due to his semi unconscious mind.

And I agree with you on this, when Zoya said to grow up to Adi, he remembered Pooja and that triggered his emotional fall.
