Sigh!! There was a time when I used to crib and complain about the distortions in our historicals.
Then I started watching the Korean Historical dramas(sageuks) and the Chinese historicals and realised what gems our Porus,Jodha Akbar and Maharana Pratap are😆
We are talking about distortions here right?Well then Korean historicals have shown a girl travelling back in time and falling in love with a real Korean Emperor.😆
So after that I have become really flexible with historical dramas.
Every show on this planet has its own share of stupidities be it an Indian show,Chinese show or American show😆
So you just need to take them like a pinch of salt and focus on the positives.
In one of the other posts I had mentioned about Qin Shi Huang,the First Emperor Of China.There was a time when China was divided into seven warring states.It was Qin Shi Huang who unified the 7 states into one nation and kept them unified under one language and one currency.He is also the one who created the structure which is known as the Great Wall Of China today.Though he died at the premature age of 50,the system of administration which he created was prevalent in China for ages.
Then again he was a ruthless ruler.I don't blame him though for ruthlessness was the way of life in those days.In his later years he was obsessed with immortality and looked for ways to make himself immortal.When he died he was buried with a massive army of terracotta soldiers to protect him in the afterlife.Also he was the only Emperor in history who never proclaimed a queen despite having several consorts 😉
Ah!! Sorry for the history lesson but I do tend to get carried away😆
Chinese history is my latest obsession.
BTW if anyone is interested to understand Shi Huang more then you can try out this drama called The King's Woman😉
It covers the life of Qin Shi Huang from his twenties to his thirties and tells the story of his doomed romance with a fictional woman named Li Ji.😉😆This drama got me hooked up.
The guy who played Shi Huang aka Ying Zheng is a brilliant actor.
And after watching this drama's FL's antics I understood the value of Jodha Begum😭😆
