Amid the sexual harassment stories which rocked Hollywood last year, and more recently across the border in Pakistan, closer home, the truth is as sinister.

Be it rape or casting couch, at a time when the entertainment industry world is witnessing iconic movements such as #MeToo and Time's Up, where actresses are finding the strength to openly share their experiences of sexual harassment, in India when given given a chance to make amends, celebrities refuse to even broach the topic.

However, Kareena Kapoor Khan has a different take on why Bollywood hasn't spoken up on the issue, she believes that, Indians first need to change their mindset before diving into campaigns.

Speaking exclusively to India Today, Kareena said, "I think if campaigns have to help then people have to first change their mindsets, the way they think. The society needs to change their thoughts before they do campaigns. Campaigns of course really work on social media, but I think first you need to change the mindset, the way a typical Indian man would think, before we talk about hundred other things. There are a lot of deep rooted issues that need to be addressed first."

Kareena Kapoor Khan returns to the big screen after almost two years, with Veere Di Wedding on June 1, The film, revolves around four best friends navigating through life while still trying to live it up.

This film is a first of its kind. While we've seen films on friendship and bonhomie, they usually revolve around heroes, be it Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara or Dil Chahta Hai, more often than not, we've seen three boys set off on a journey. With Veere Di Wedding, Kareena confessed that it was the urge to do something different, which is why she picked this film.

"The idea was to do something different, I've always tried to that whether it was with Ki and Ka or with Udta Punjab, they were not the regular commercial films out of the typical run of the mill. This is something different because it's about the story of 4 women, it's quite out there when you see the promo and quite relate able to the way like two girlfriends will talk and I think that's why the kind of reaction to the promo," revealed Kareena

Recently Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who has always shied away from social media, was the latest celebrity to get bitten by the Instagram bug. Will Kareena also join the bandwagon?

"No, I think that'll never be possible, because I'm very private about my life. What has to be there, a lot of things are out there. Despite not being on social media, I think my life is on social media, so I like it that way. I don't wanna be the one posting pictures and videos," Kareena concluded.
