I must say the makers have really taken me by surprise with today's episode. So much screen time for Alexander!!

I think the robes suited him and went very well with his apparently relaxed demeanor. And yes, we got a much deserved, overdue treat with this new sight. Rohit set the screen on fire, I couldn't believe what I was watching. He asked Drypetis about silk and that's what he was all about today. He actually looked like a conquerer, his walk and talk were both different. Tonight he was not a roaring lion, but a watchful sleek panther. Rohit is setting the bar higher and higher everyday.
Why do I get the feeling that Alexander was not intoxicated at all when meeting the royal ladies but was pretending to be so in order to throw his enemies off guard? So he's interested in Barsine just because of India? He pretended to take offense at her ignoring him and told her off indirectly by asking her mother if she hadn't been taught manners. 😆 Just moments ago she had declared she was going to be saving them all and here she was told off like a little child by someone far out of her league. Her refusal to look him in the eye confirmed his suspicion that she was indeed hiding a secret - Barsine is now officially a person of interest. During Alexander's exchange with Hephaestion, it was pretty clear that he had already a game plan in mind.
So that's it, eh? His instinct is going to make him even more attentive towards her - he made it clear to everyone that nothing escapes his gaze. I still can't tell if he succeeded in his attempt to rile Barsine with his seductive display of power, but the message got to Stateira for sure. Maybe Stateira will chicken out and not leave with Puru in the end for fear of repercussions. It would be the biggest insult to Alexander if someone managed to take, of all things, the ladies away right from under his nose and I just don't see how this would be possible.
Today even the Paurav Rashtra bits were bearable (until I let out a loud "NO!!!!!" when Anusuya said Puru koi kaam adhura nahin chodta). For once, Bamni used his common sense, even if it is based on his wife's unshakeable belief that their son was safe.
I am loving this side of Alexander and I can feel a new analysis coming up soon. Can't wait for tomorrow's episode!
