They have been together for almost a year-and-a-half and Barkha Bisht and Indraneil Sengupta are soon tying the knot. When we spoke to Barkha, she confirmed the news. "Yes, we are getting married on March 2," said the excited bride-to-be. She reveals that Neil, as she fondly calls him, had actually proposed to her in December. "He went down on his knees and proposed formally to me. There was wine and flowers and he gave me the most beautiful diamond ring. I was crying for some 15 minutes and he was like, 'Okay, does that mean a yes or a no?'" she laughs recalling those moments. Barkha says that since there are a few days left for the wedding, she is busy squeezing in time between shooting, to shop for clothes and jewellery. "My sister's come down from Colombo and I try to take out some time to go shopping with her," says Barkha, adding that even Indraneil has been shopping for her. "And he has good taste!" she says. The wedding will take place in Roorkee and there'll be a reception later in Mumbai, but there are a number of ceremonies planned before that. "There's a tilak ceremony, cocktails and sangeet that I'm choreographing and which Neil's trying to squeeze out of!" she smiles. For the wedding, the two will be wearing colour-coordinated outfits – she'll wear a lehenga in burnt orange and blue and Indraneil will dude it up in a blue sherwani. So, is she driving him up the wall with all this planning? "I think I am!" she admits with a laugh. The couple will resume work after marriage for a week or so before heading off for their honeymoon to the Maldives. "I'm a beach person so we've decided to go to the Maldives for a few days," Barkha says. For the moment though, the pretty actress is waiting for the D-day when she will tie the knot with Indraneil. "When we got into this relationship, we knew it would be forever," she says. Guess marriages are made in heaven after all! 'I'm not feeling the jitters' With the wedding just a few days away, we asked Indraneil Sengupta if he's feeling the jitters? "Not at all," he smiles. "Yes, I am feeling the jitters for the sangeet ceremony though where I'll be dancing," he laughs. Their wedding was certainly not a sudden plan. "We've been together for one-and-a-half years now and have been thinking about marriage for the last six to seven months. Our parents met each other and that's how we planned it all," he says. Like Barkha, his busy schedule too isn't permitting him enough time to shop, but he's managing to take time off whenever possible. Even post-wedding, the couple will just have a few days off for the honeymoon. "Barkha is more of a beach person, while I love the mountains. I wanted to go to Switzerland, but I know she can't take too much cold. So we've decided on Maldives which is a beautiful place," says Indraneil. Let's wish this beautiful couple a great married life ahead. |
