But I think he let go of Mohit's films after that due to the failure of HAK(that film was gone from the start) at KJo's behest because of KJo's allergy to failures. HG opened well despite people making fun of it from the trailers. Who knows with Sid the final result it might have been different?

Brothers was mass pleasing but Akshay was always going to walk away with the film. A Gentleman was entertaining at Dishoom-level. It could have opened and done better similar to Dishoom. But a film like this needs good publicity and the trailer must be cut well for a good opening. Both of these were lacking. BOI said many times that by the time the successful songs were released the damage was done. It was the usual Fox Star BO suicide when it comes to publicity if left alone.

Well Mohit is directing again so Sid can work with Mohit. HG was a horrendous book. It wouldn't have worked regardless.
