Ummm his name in Rajinder Dhawan. He was born in Hindu-Punjabi family and moved to Kanpur with his family when he was young. He then came to Mumbai and gave acting institute a go but seeing the likes of Satish Shah and Sureah Oberoi he gave up and joined editing teams and became successful. He lived in neighbourhood filled with Christians since early age and they all called him by David which he initially used as his identity on screen despite credited as Rajinder in first few films he edited

Karuna Dhawan (Lali) is also from a Hindu-Punjabi family.

Bhagwaan Varun please stay away from David DHAWAN's movie and other remake stuffs . These kinda movies really ruins his image as an actor , judwaa 2 is one of the reasons why he is trolled on SN.
He brings the worse outta him . :(

David is frekaing out and doing this for his son's career when Varun is totally fine. It's good to show concern but to clear this noise. This Biwi No.1 noise came after Judwaa 2 to which Varun said it ain't happening and then mentioned if he does another film with his dad, it will be more a family drama/masala on the lines of David's most acclaimed work and a smash hit - Swarg

Just hope Varun again clears this noise. I don't want him to be next Salman. I want him to be Varun Dhawan. Baring Judwaa he hasn't done a Bollywood remake. Badlapur, SOTY, Dishoom, ABCD 2, October, both Dhulania's, Sui Dhaaga and Kalank are original work and hope he continues it this way
