Apr 26/18 Reactions - Episode #1086 "Aapke Parchayi"

Hello guys,

I am deeply disappointed and unhappy today. I realize now I was overcomplicating it and I should have remembered, the simplest answer is usually the right one. Of course it would turn out that Kiara is AbhiGya's child; any other situation would be quite convoluted. Silly of me to hope for something better!!

So far I feel we don't have a good enough reason for Pragya not to have tried telling Abhi about Kiara. Even if she decided it would be safer for her child to be away from someone with unstable and violent tendencies, just never telling him wasn't her only choice. For her own and Kiara's protection, she should have made sure that door was firmly closed. But far from anything like that, what we're shown is that she still adores and misses him, and she's clinging to their child as consolation for his loss.

That is a pretty hopeless way to be a parent.

But anyway! I tend to be far less talkative when I am unhappy, so I may not be doing these as regularly as I might have liked. Thanks for joining me once more, here it goes :)

What is Mina Show?

When I watch an episode and react with random comments/recaps moments that struck my attention. Also sometimes my various family members participate, mostly my dad, who likes to give episodes letter grades because he's a retired professor and misses grading assignments apparently 😆

Can I comment?

While I am watching the episode, the thread has "Res" for a title, and I would ask for no comments then please so that all of my reactions can flow together. After that yes of course you can comment 😊

We open with King thanking Pragya for saving him. Well, I'm still not a fan but at least he knows how to express gratitude after all.

On the one hand I'm glad to know in clear words that King and Pragya made a "deal" and are not really married, but it's also so heavy handed to tell us just like that? I wonder why they decided not to draw that out more. I also need to know more about this deal - does it have an expiration date? What about the child's feelings? What's in it for King?

Lots of questions. But another point in his favour, he's biddable enough to go to the car when told to 😆

I feel like the whole tone of the show is something else now; the constant use of background music contributes to that. It's a darker, edgier, adult story about wounded hearts and a broken relationship. Which is fine, you know, it'll probably be a good story overall. Just not one I'm excited about, in the particulars.

Scenes of Abhi and Pragya separately standing around thinking thoughts are pretty uneventful...😛

Haila, Kiara is telling dad not to drink. A 6 or 7 year old should not have to be able to even form that thought, guys 😔

Accha he's a "rap" star not a "rockstar". Nice distinction from the writers! Putting some thought into it eh 😆

Pragya does more for King than any wife does for her husband. Ok...? That's cool since they're not, you know, actually husband and wife.

Glad to hear King gave her a job and Pragya is gainfully employed. That's hugely important to me ok ⭐️

Why on earth has King agreed to play dad for Kiara though. I hope we get more insight on this.

So that intro sequence of Pragya decorating turned out to be total time waste? The decorations are nowhere to be seen after all.🤔

Pragya says no one in Mumbai remembers her 😭 Why, Pragya. You had a family. No explanation forthcoming on why you cut yourself off from them I suppose.

I've rewatched Fareeda Bi's line so many times and I cannot figure out whose pyaar for who she's talking about!

Ok I have SO MANY questions about this dream/memory. That's AbhiGya's room, not the safehouse. So was this the night after the party where Simonica shot the chandelier? There is literally NO OTHER TIME they could have been alone and romantic like this. They had their SR, he went to jail, he got out of jail after a few weeks or whatever, 2 days later they were in the safe house and the next day they were broken up.

SO WHEN COULD THIS POSSIBLY HAVE HAPPENED, EH?

It's no secret to anyone who knows me that I haaate serial heroine sharmana, so yeah, Pragya pretending not to understand the innuendo of waking him does nothing but annoyyy meee.

I spent a lot time trying to figure out if gajar ka halwa, firni and rogan are supposed to specifically reference anything. I have come to no conclusions. But overall they actually did a startlingly good job at conveying the sense of 'dirty talk' without actually saying anything explicit? In fact that whole dream felt way too steamy for family TV viewing, so...uh, thanks, I guess. Things I never thought I'd see!

Abhi's voice when he thinks Pragya is the one who floated the feather! Exquisite blend of anguish and hope. A+ Shabz. At least he's getting stuff to actually do in this track, hah.

This glasses scene broke my flipping heart. Any doubt I would like to cherish about this child being AbhiGya's, was made impossible by this explicit paralleling of Kiara and Abhi.

Oh and I don't like Pragya's new glasses.

Sriti is freaking gorgeous in this scene though, the Kiara portion particularly - and her face is so. incredibly. expressive!

Ooh, I just noticed the picture of King and Kiara in the background. Cute. And I couldn't avoid noticing the picture of Kiara dressed exactly like Abhi. Not subtle 😛

Leena actually looks adorable laughing and happy.

Why must Abhi say she has rights on him. Bada aaya hai, haq dene wala. Never saw him much concerned on that before 🤔

He hasn't drank coffee or kept a messy room for 7 years???? What kind of temper tantrum lasts that long I'm so confused. Yaar at some point you just revert back to normal habits...it takes effort to keep up hate like this for so long, day after day after day.

This Daasi Abhi scene is as helpful, but as clumsy, as the King Pragya scene at the beginning. Exposition dump. Guess they just want to get it out of the way asap, because they have other things in mind for the main story.

So like...has Daasi been trying to make Abhi see sense about Pragya for 7 years and he just isn't and she keeps telling him the same things?

That sounds exhausting.

Pragya hurt you; Pragya will heal you. This sounds nice but it also is so problematic in many ways?? Starting with PRAGYA DIDN'T HURT HIM, so...

Yeah, Abhi. No one can fill your self inflicted invisible wound.

Abhi's conclusion on all this is..."why can't I hide my feelings from Daasi."

Abhi can I suggest some better questions? Try "why am I having these feelings" "what do these feelings mean" "Is Daasi right" "have I ever gotten into trouble before by ignoring my elders" ETC!

Okaaay this precap - I am totally looking forward to Pragya going out of her way to avoid Abhi in Mumbai...only to meet him in Delhi. 🤡

I'm glad Pragya is King's manager, not secretary. I'm glad King thinks she is the best.

I wonder what he knows about Kiara's paternity, if he's just offhandly joking about any old ex boyfriend Pragya may have had?

So look, overall - there's still a compelling story here, I'm still going to watch, everything is going to be fine. But that firefly glow in my heart that was lit for a few days is gone. I feel like something in the show is dead and lost forever and I have to come to grips with that while taking in this different thing it has become.

Time to care less, think less, talk less, and enjoy more! Thanks for being with me and hope you find more to love in this than I do 😳

This king-pragya contract is so weird , crossing professional boundaries... Can a girl ask her boss to be a fake dad to the kid , I dunno? Moreover what is need of a Papa Ka naam specially when she is living in London with no connection to her traditional family. Did pragya sign any contract with king (since she is still abhi's wife can she do that) or is it just one those things where she trusts king to do the right thing? Moreover what is use of this husband -wife thing ,when Mr.king can't keep in his pants ? what kind of impression will it make on kiara's mind when her papa isn't faithful to mummy ? A six year old who knows her dad drinks? 😕This is so contrived.

Abhi dreaming about pragya while being with Tanu is distateful , and he is aware that pragya is in his heart as highlighted by the dialogue alu heard. Unless Tanu forced him to marry her which doesn't seem to be the case, this is meh. He really can't make up his mind, can he? When with pragya , he wanted Tanu and now with Tanu, he wants pragya. GROW UP ABHI!!!

Dasi giving all those lectures, seems like fan service at this point. She did raise some good points but still seems like weird. Like has she been continuously giving him these lectures for 7 years..who cares.

Pragya isn't some use and throw toy whose sole purpose is to validate abhi's existence...dasi ask your boy to just move on from Tanu instead .

Leena looked so cute in that feather scene... I kind felt bad for Tanu for a million second. I guess, I will feel bad for anyone who has the misfortune of being abhi's partner😡

Pragya and her daughter are sweethearts. Such a darling child. CVS gave her exactly same dialogues to reinforce the idea that she is abhi's daughter, not so subtle are they? That chasma frame doesn't suit Sriti's face... Old one was better. Is this chasma some kind of a metaphor, will the old one make a comeback when pragya returns to MM 2.0?
