Just watched today's episode and what a treat it was...fabulous acting, amazing BG score and deeper insight into Adi & Zoya's characters...
Talking about Adi here &what got me thinking...his need, his desperate need to make Zoya believe that Yash & pooja were together... There are 2 folds to it..
1) the only one who can experience EXACTLY the same emotions of betrayal as his, is Zoya, ofcourse... Every other family member, relative, friend can empathize or feel sad or get angry or even feel sorry for Adi..but the only one who can Experience the Same excruciating pain as his, is her!! He wants a companion in his misery, he wants someone to share his grief, his anger with...and he wants someone to Understand his position. I feel that Adi feels that no one can actually fathom the depth of his grief and no one can understand why he is doing all the stuff that he is doing..
The day Zoya believes in the infidelity of Yash, she becomes Adi's misery companion...she would understand his pain, his anger as she would be experiencing it too...
2)What I thought was the big insight today was his anger towards his Mother for not standing up to his father's betrayal...He was just 16 when his father cheated on his family & left them..he saw his mother's pain & hurt.He himself felt betrayed by his father who chose another person over his own family.. But what angered him the most was his mother's silent acceptance of his fathers's deeds...according to him,(As he indirectly told her today,) what she did was a spineless act...She should have confronted HH(harshvardhan Hooda) when he came back, she should have protested instead of accepting him back into their lives, she should not have continued the farce of a happy marriage... For Aditya Hooda, this act of her mother was also a kind of betrayal...he expected her to stand for herself AND for her children..and she did neither...instead she pretended to be happy when in reality she was suffering!
And now he sees the same story repeating with Zoya...but he is not a child of 16 anymore..and he wont silently sit and witness another woman being weak & meek and keeping the blinds on... And so he protests, he fights with her, he annoys her, he taunts her...whatever it takes to remove the veil covering her eyes!!!
People say he hates her!! No, he hates the Belief she has on yash. For him, that 'belief' is misguided & unwarranted and he sees it as her blindness!
And so he wants to shatter this belief, he wants her to face the reality head on and accept her 'cheater pati & his dhoka' , he wants her to stand up on her own, he wants her to be strong,he wants her to move on so that she can live a happy life afterwards...
In his own way, he wants to save her from a never-ending misery...
Plz do share your thoughts!
Love, Sumi
