Apr 24/18 Reactions - Episode #1084 "Everything new is old again"

Hello guys!

It's been so long since I did one of these (260 episodes to be exact!) that I'm not sure I even remember how! But it's me just being me so somehow it worked out I think 😆

Anyway so look, I understand a lot of people are unhappy about a lot of things. Everyone's feelings are valid and I am not here to argue anything with anyone. I don't love a lot of what's happened. But I feel it is all understandable. Every single choice they made was necessary for the story they want to tell. And I'm interested in that story.

So here we go guys with a post-leap edition of Mina Show. I will be watching regularly and if I can I will continue with these reaction posts too. Now whether anyone even wants to read them or not is another story, but if you happen to be tuning in with me, thanks and let's get to it!! 😊 ❤️

What is Mina Show?

When I watch an episode and react with random comments/recaps moments that struck my attention. Also sometimes my various family members participate, mostly my dad, who likes to give episodes letter grades because he's a retired professor and misses grading assignments apparently 😆

Can I comment?

While I am watching the episode, the thread has "Res" for a title, and I would ask for no comments then please so that all of my reactions can flow together. After that yes of course you can comment 😊

Every post on the forum is a discussion post but please keep in mind that what I'm posting here are instant reactions, not deeply reasoned thoughts. I'm not looking to start a debate, just sharing my reactions.

Am I having deja vu or is the episode opening with the same post-leap scenes from yesterday!

LOL moving on!

They've done this interweaving thing pretty skillfully. Easy to believe that the party Pragya is decorating for, is the same one Abhi has forgotten that he's expected to attend.

Accha here are Abhi and Purab walking forward like some bosses. Good for them! They look great! And a shallow part of me is also thinking they look old and haggard and I am happy about it because that is how people should look after 7 years of soulessness!

Lol this kid is adorable, Mr Chunnilal's son. I want more of him.

LOL Dad is asking me if the show leaped 7 years why didn't they age 🤣

I think Abhi did this same dropped chin propping during memory loss track intro with Pragya and I don't like that it was repeated on a random person!

By the way I really don't like Purab's ponytail.

But I reall DO like Chunnilal Junior in general...seriously I need to follow this actor to his next show whatever it is. Or perhaps I'll be lucky and he'll have more than a one episode cameo here 😆

LOL Dad is seriously amused at Abhi doing this dedication without knowing anything about it. Nice to see Dad smile even if it is at a bunch of nonsense! Waise I myself was impressed that they managed to bring the humour in so quickly and naturally. Like, yesterday people were committing suicide off cliffs and dying from bullet wounds, but today we have jokes about Abhi getting away with incompetence because he just has that much swag!

Dad asks if Jr Chunnilal is Abhi's son 🤣

Dad says I am a very bad girl because I have made him addicted to this thing and now that I'm watching today's episode he cannot go and do some work he had planned.

NOT MY FAULT, DAD, THAT KKB CONTINUES TO BE BEST WATCHING EVEN AT ITS WORST.

Ahem sorry for screaming!

The bromance! The return of Purab as manager! Nothing has changed in 4 years since the launch of this show at alll...except some aging. Oh and some epic story telling in between. But you know plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose! Welcome to the beginning all over again.

I'm so so so so dead at Abhi's pulling apart gesture. This is a man who does not want to go home ever. And he's joking about it. And it's funny but it is also so, really, not funny. Love the layeredness of everything!

I really do not like the dark tones of Pragya's accessories! Or this coat thing she wears outside the dresses!

That red dress is gorgeous though.

My parents are intrigued that Prags seems to have had a child in 7 years.

I wonder if Kiara's room is repurposed from some set we have seen before.

Ok WHY does this child have her hair in a Sailor Moon meatball style honestly WHY

Aww the way she listens to Pragya's lecture about how losing is winning is quite sweet.

Dad is muttering about how no one ages 🤣

Me: Oh Dad you didn't see yesterday's episode!

Dad: No I did not and nor do I want to!

Theeek hai dad. *heavy sigh*

So Raj Mithali have overcome all their issues I guess? "You are naturally beautiful!" is a sweet thing to say to someone, I guess if you've forgiven them for sending you to jail anything goes.

So Daasi becoming head of the family makes no sense. She was Daadi's COUSIN. It just. It doesn't make sense.

But Daasi is adorable so whatevs ❤️

Oh god "Aaj hi ki din Abhi ka dulhan bani thi na" like way to rub it in for all of us, well done CVs, just twist the knife further 😔

Really missing Daadi as a counterbalance to all this venialityyy we see showcased with Taiji's fam always.

Dad: Where is Daadi, oh she died?

Mom: She died?

Guys, my parents bhi na...!

Dad: So this budiya got a promotion because the other budiya is gone? Where's Pragya's mom?

Me: Well she's 7 years in the past on the other show

Dad: Abhi is still young though, he looks young

After weeks Dad FINALLY watched the promo properly! He goes "Wait what is happening here! Who the hell is that guy! And who the hell is this guy! They are both Abhi!"

Legit I could not get this fellow to take his eyes off his phone to pay attention to this promo before the leap actually happened 😆

Acchaji this ghoonghat scene. In Bangla we call this kind of display nyakami. But hey unke shauk hai unko karne do! If they want to celebrate their anniversary with faux bridal whateverness...well it's as they say, you do you.

I actually really like Sunny I think he's great 😆

Shabz + kids = hameshaaa adorbsfest

Dad: Where is Abhi's child, where has his daughter gone?

Guys I am not gonna explain to my parents about the parallel storylines. They'll figure it out soon enough.

Dad feels that whoever is writing this story is under the influence of psychoactive substances. Well he didn't say it that way but it's what he meant.

He says there's a limit to how much you can twist a story. Not true, Dad! There's never a limit in Tellywood 😆

Zee is promoting some kind of 'SuperHit' recap hour on weekends at 8pm and I don't understand it but I'm definitely interested in the KKB portion of it whatever that turns out to be.

Abhi and his guitar stud earrings. I want an eye rolling emoji.

AALIYA. SEVEN YEARS LATER and still living off of bhai and bestie. Aaliya. Aaliya what about your life. Aaaliya.

Just like every other woman on this showww...the character loves herself less than some of us do!

Dad is trying to understand when did TaBhi get married and what all happened and etc

Leap leap leap! That's the only explanation on offer for now.

Oooh it is pretty difficult to watch that TaBhi cake feeding and hugging. Hits where it hurts.

Dear every person who ever suggested a rival rockstar on this show; THIS is why you should always be careful what you wish for. It could come true - in some horrible way you never wanted.

Precap - Kiara has a really cool mural on her wall! A+ to whatever set decorator chose that!

Dad is repeating his favourite metaphor "These shows are like chewing gum and they just stretch and stretch and stretch it for the sake of stretching it until it's meaningless!"

Sahi baat, Dad. But I happen to like my overchewed chewing gum and will keep tuning right in 😊

Hey Mina.. good that you are back!

Mehras have moved to Delhi, Mumbai is the place to be for a rockstar!

I didn't see the whole episode just the Tanu is mm house ki nayi tulsi...the cake looked so unappealing and stale...who would have wanted to eat that.

Alu...alu looked good but her standing next to dishrab's kid, man, this show is so twisted. Now that show wale have used their budget to have mishal on board, they cannot bring any one for alu...man, I know that romantic relationships are not prerequisite for a happy life but man ...still.

Dishrab's kid seems happy...so alu hasn't been torturing him...

Pragya's makeup looks bit too dark and heavy, Sriti is naturally so pretty so I don't think it is unnecessary.

Agree that that was not a very appealing cake.

I did not like Aalu's dress and I do not understand I DO NOT UNDERSTAND how she could have coexisted with DishRab all these years. Maybe she's just visiting for the anniversary? I don't know. I'm glad Shikha still has a big role but I'm sad that AALIYA never gets more to do. Her reaction to Disha's pregnancy honestly made me think they may have her turning over a new leaf. But then this whole AbhiGya separation being catalysed by her brattiness...there's no hope for new leaves.

Yes Sunny seems like a happy child and I hope he doesn't turn out to be bad in someway! Yesterday one poor soul was saying somewhere online that his chachi couldn't be Tanu because no kid would like Tanu. So that by logic since Sunny likes his Chachi...you know what I'm saying? I hope he gets to stay a sweet and happy kid.

I don't know if you caught it but there was this moment where Sunny tells Abhi "Blackmailing is a kind of business, and you have to take profit where you can get it" - I'd like to believe that struck a tiny bell somewhere deep inside Abhi that maybe he's on the wrong track of his money hungry cynicism has so deeply infected an innocent child. I don't know if they're planning to use Sunny like that but it felt like a small clue.

AGREE AGREE I DON'T LIKE THE MAKE UP. Too dark agree agree!!

I feel that things are not what quite they seem...there must be more to Tanu turning a new leaf, but since in telly land only kids and dogs can judge a person, going by that ..Tanu is kind of ok?

I also wrote that it would be amusing for a child to love Tanu while speculating about his chachi in abhi's AT..see I am not the only one who things this way. Maybe Tanu has corrupted the kid a bit but he seems kind of well behaved so who knows what is really going on!

So if the both kids are happy in their lives, so what is the point of reuniting abhigya and adding chaos to their lives..i know abhi is all rotten inside without his fuggy but who really cares about him 😆

Wish alu was just visiting but I think she lives there, doing nothing😵
