Chapter 10: I Choose You!

The bride and groom were taking their vows, it looked etherealit's not everyday that one would see a couple so madly in love. Their eyes hadn'tleft each others, admiring, cherishing the moments which would bind themforever. Everything was as per their expectations but Geet was a wreck, shecursed herself for the umpteenth time, the bachelorette party they had had thenight before had not done any good to her.

Last Night

Soon after the sangeet ceremony had ended, they had plannedthe party, so after the relatives had retired for the night, the girls had goneto the outhouse to have a hen party.

'We should be in bed by 2am??? Whyyy??' Pinky had raised herobjection.

'The bride and her bridesmaids need their beauty sleep'Naina winked 'moreover we do not want to look poofy eyed due to our lack ofsleep in every single photo' she had added.

Owing to the limited time they had, they danced, sung andgot drunk.

'GOT DRUNK!' thought Geet closing her eyes in despair, she knew verywell that she couldn't handle her alcohol and yet she had decided to drink, thedecision was based only due to the turmoil caused by a certain someone. She hadhoped that drinking would help her in forgetting him but now he was all thatshe could think of.

Drinking was DEFINITELY a bad move she thought now trying toerase the moment her mind had decided to play again and again each time adding asensual detail to it making her imaginations go wild. She widened her eyescoming out of the reverie and regretted it the very second, this time it hadbeen a good one... Maan had kissed her on her lips and pulled her into an embrace,she had found her safe haven in his arms as she had looked into his moltenchocolate brown eyes she had found herself getting more and more absorbed intoit, it was then that she had given in to his plea... closing her eyes she hadwaited for him to close the distance between them.

She groaned, Maan had taken over her mind and there was noescaping it and she was more than happy to oblige to her mind.

'WHATTT??!', she gulped another drink after she convinced herselfthat she didn't want that, only to fall into another trance with her mindvividly playing the encounter with Maan again with it's own mirch masala added.

A few drinks later she felt the atmosphere change around her,

'Oh great!' she muttered, seeing the boys joining them.

'I thought you already had your bachelors party' Naina told theintruders

'We did, we were returning from our party when we noticedthat the lights here were still on and we decided to check' Adi replied and sothe party continued through midnight.

It was almost time to return back home and sleep, Pinky andAdi had retired to separate rooms in the guest house and Naina was leading asemi drunk Dev back to the mansion laughing at a joke he cracked in his drunkstate. Almost knowing what was waiting for her, she turned around to find Maanlooking at her as if he was amused.

'Not fair' she called out

'What is?' he had almost wanted to say everything was fair in love and war

'You asked me not to look at you and now you are gaping atme' she pouted

'I'm just watching your poor attempts to get up from thechair' he had chuckled.

True, she was having a hard time getting up, all thanks tothe drinks she'd had that night. The more she tried getting up, thegravitational pull seemed to increase even more and she would fall right back.Maan pulled her up by her wrists and watched Geet as she had a goofy grin plasteredto her face all the while, it took him more than 10 minutes to get her towardsher room. He started walking back towards his room after leaving Geet, but soonrealized that he was being followed by the giggling monster.

'Why are you following me now, go back to your room and stopgiggling!'

he had whispered trying not to wake anyone up. Pouting Geethad kept a finger on her lips and walked back, he sighed getting into his roomand was about to close the door when a head struck through the remaining gapgiving him a huge grin.

'You might be pretty but THAT is scary' he said as he walkedaway letting Geet enter his room.

'Why are you doing this to me?'

she had asked once she seated herself comfortably over hisbed, seeing no response from him she repeated the same

'Why are you doing this to me?? Ha? How dare you occupy mymind and thoughts? Do you even know how hard it has been for me? I can't choosebetween you and...'

at this Maan wasstartled, did she really have a boy in her life? He hoped she didn't, he wasdreading to hear her next words.

'I can't choose...'

'You are drunk, we have to get you back to your room'

'between you and...'

'Geet'

he called her out closing his eyes in an attempt to mask thetension he was in, something in him broke, he could feel the ache already

'Voldy'

'WHAT! WHO??!!!' he had snapped his eyes open

'Voldemort from Harry Potter' she had provided as if it was supposed to be very obvious.

This woman was crazy, he concluded. He watched her inamusement as though she would tell him this was a joke but NO! She was actuallyserious! Awkward silence had followed, she was weighing Maan and Voldy in herimaginary weighing scales and Maan was in shock. Here he was with an almostbroken heart worrying if he put her in a place to choose between him and herboyfriend, and madam was comparing him to a fictional character!

'A "NOSE-LESS fictional character' his mind added

'I choose you, Pikachu!'

she finally declared giving up on the weighing she was busywith a second ago.

'How drunk are you?'

he had managed to ask, he was not sure if she had gone crazyafter drinking or he was going crazy while he listened to her.

'Drunk enough to do THIS'

And she had proceeded to pull the collar of the t-shirt hewas wearing and kissed him.

Present

SHE HAD KISSED HIM!!! The very thought made her eyes go wideand she gasped! There was loud cheering around and she realized that Dev andNaina had kissed at the very same moment as she had gasped and people wouldpass it off as her reaction to the couple at the altar.

'But not HIM!' her mind said

She turned to look towards the Best Man across the hall,true enough he had seen her and he knew that she had recalled the happenings athis room. Catching her eye, he mouthed 'And I choose you!' making her cheeks turn adarker shade of pink.

I Choose You! - Self explanatory😉
