As much as I loved Neil Khanna, undoubtedly he is no longer the same post leap and logically, nor is the love between Avni and Neil. The person who used to say that he understood Avni best (more than anyone else in the world) and could catch her lies and hidden truths by just looking into her eyes now says that except himself, everyone else can understand Avni's decisions and feelings. Instead of embracing her or at least pulling her into a hug the first time he sees her, he instead pushes her away and refuses to listen to any explanation whatsoever. There is no initial joy or surprise at seeing her alive. It's as if he would have been better off if she were not alive. He doesn't wish to share the news of his impending engagement with his current wife whom he has not yet divorced, and is definitely more of an emotional wreck than ever before (though fortunately no longer suicidal).
Neil Khanna is treading on the wrong path, acting impulsive and irrational without analyzing the circumstances of the issue at hand, and is even willing to play with a girl's feelings while he attempts to take out his anger on Avni by getting married pronto. What's the goal? Does he really wish to spoil Mithali's life along with his own? Suppose they do get married, it's obvious that it will never be a happy one. And honestly, I don't see Avni getting too affected even if he does end up getting married as long as she has Mowgli and the children by her side. If anything, it would maybe lead her to doubt their love and get over him easier.Avni's Neil would never have behaved this irrationally and I feel that the large disconnect between Avni and Neil is not just because of Avni's stubbornness but also because of Neil's callous behavior. As Neil continues to push Avni away, she just keeps distancing herself even further. The only time that Avni is drawn to Neil at the moment is when the old protective and caring Neil resurfaces during times of need, but as we know, that too is temporary. As much as the MS breaking was painful, it was necessary to bring Neil out of his shell of raging emotions.I can only hope that Neil should have some sort of self-realization before Mowgli's or Prakash's truth surfaces, hopefully with the bracelet scene, because otherwise, their reunion would be because of external factors and not because of the undying love that they have for each other.Neil needs to realize that he needs to 'move on', not by marrying Mithali, but by finding a purpose in life again (like Avni has) and, hopefully while he is at it, he is able to come to the realization that he can only move on from Avni to 'move on' with Avni.
