Zee Carnival goes crazy over SRK
Shah Rukh Khan was in his favourite city – London – over the weekend as one of the main attractions at this year's Zee Carnival 2008. And the actor's presence created the biggest turnout for the organizers and at the same time spelt a headache for the security personnel.
"When people knew that SRK had been confirmed for the Carnival the tickets sold out within minutes. That's not all but we had SRK fans queuing up nights before so that they could be at the top of the queue and could therefore be right near the stage. We had people of all age groups – toddlers, young kids, teenagers, parents and even grandparents!" says a member of the security staff.

He adds that such a huge crowd only meant trouble for the star's bodyguards.
"We had arranged for security for SRK at the event. But when we saw the turnout we had to double it immediately. The security we provided for him was bigger than what is given to the likes of Britney Spears and Robbie Williams in the UK during a concert," he said, "By the end of it we had 8-9 bodyguards just shadowing him let alone the other security!"
At the Carnival, SRK's fans also got an opportunity at an Autograph Corner to interact with the superstar.
"It was brilliant! I can't believe I met him. He hugged each one of us," said a twelve year old fan of SRK, "We all had been queuing here since the 13th night with my family and it was worth it!"
The Zee Carnival is an annual event in the UK that allows South Asians in the region to get a taste of Asian culture and celebrities. Past Bollywood celebrities who have attended the Carnival include Arjun Rampal, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherji, Himesh Reshammiya, Esha Deol and Shilpa Shetty.
