How is the ticket to finale decided? The person who gets highest votes today? Or someone handpicked by the judges? Didn't they have a special panel of judges last season who voted for who should go to the finale? Did Maithili win it last time, or is my memory serving me wrong?

I remember there being some 4 people, mostly singers who were brought in and there was a decision between 2 people (I think one of them was Ankita Kundu who mostly everyone voted on favor of and the other person - was it the Sikh army guy?- had to go), but not sure if it was ticket to finale.
