Bini I was thinking about that also. But the only conclusion I made with myself is only that matters is will Chakor want to go back to marathon race. In current situation Chakor participating in races would be tough but not impossible, but... I think by showing Chakor's overprotective behavior towards Saanvi they are sending message that Chakor don't want it. At least for now. She even said in Saanvi's introduction scene that even when she is training children her thoughts are only about Saanvi and just couple of minutes before she was saying to children that when running their attention shouldn't be on anything else. F for focus, G for goal.

What I understood is that Chakor is not forcing girls and women's of the village to let go everything and to do something else. She is forcing them to think about what they want, what they like, what are their dreams and to accomplish that. And yes since all of them were slaves all these years and since they have rigid opinions about women's role many of them have dreams which, if Chakor manages to convince them, they will try to accomplish. Unlike them, Chakor lived her dream even if it was for some other purpose. She accomplished it and maybe many more succesful races was in front of her and she gave up on them but at least she did something and that helped her to not lose faith, self confidence and everything else. As for now it looks like Chakor's dream is not going to marathon races but changing her society.

As for being more inspirational if she goes back to participating races I don't know how much would that be effective in current situation where villagers have rigid opinions. If she just goes back to running and proves that it's possible to maintain balance I'm not sure that villagers would understand her. For them Chakor was always exception, they always saw her as someone who can do things they just can't. That's why they were always dependent on her. The changes in villagers from previous track are mostly in their bravery, proof is that Gauris parents accepted to Imlis idea about marring Gauri and Chakor had to save situation. Chakor needs to prove them that it's possible for every girl not only for her. That's why if Gauri is first one who will do something with her talent maybe it will be more inspirational then just Chakor going to running.

At the end of the day, with enemy's around her anyone can spread rumors that it's easy for Chakor to balance it all since she is living in big mansion, have servants doesn't have to do household etc...

Krupy bini mesh loved reading your thoughts I agree with the points you have raised. Will just add few of my bits without making it to long

Krupy I liked the coach points you made and mesh the way you compared it to a mother roles

I remember watching the scene back in 2016 and i wasn't shipping sukor at point and even though i understood why she said that, I still was disappointed not that I blame her, like mesh pointed out, chakor indeed expressed the sad bitter reality of the society. I don't remember if the media people had challenged her reasoning during that scene or not.

As far as Imli reaction at that point goes, you are right Krupy it's great they turned her fully negative later on in the story because it completely matched her expressions and actions throughout the story. She was always a selfish person and changed sides accordingly to her needs. She Wanted To Be With Vivian Because She Knew Chakor Loved Vivian And She Wanted To Block chakor getting her love. Thanks for putting forward your views girls about why vivaan reacted that way when he saw chakor hug that way. When I saw that scene my instant reaction was that he still feels for her but doesn't realise it.

Bini I agree they should show the successful balance between personal and professional life with chakor character.thats one thing i was looking forward to with this leap. But is it possible because age wise she will be close to 30 now. Unless they come up with a track which deals with mothers running marathon.races. like the colors TV pinkathon is doing in kolkata tmrw? They can show a competition which chakor wins. I had loved the ashwariya rai running sequence in the movie jazbaa. it was a school race where mother daughter in a team. I know I am going off topic here.

Do you think someone will challenge chakor and ask her why she isn't utilising her talent while she is asking others to. Maybe chagan, gauri or someone else?

That can lead her to going back to her marathon career, if they plan to show it like that

Well i am not good at track anyalsis which you all know but nevertheless it has to be understood that for a women who has been working in corporate when I was dreaming high when the platter was given to chose career or family it is not anything about any pressure or mansik bandhuva but the instinct of any women / girl would be to choose family and then comes career unless the support system are fine for her to provide that push to fly high.

The lady whom I pride a lot CEO of Pepsisco Ms. Indrya Nooyi too has always said that she could soar high because of the support system even when she was given the award of the best CEO in the world she made her mother to collect the award and dedicated it to her team as they were her support system as she too had her family.

Hope I am not boring... but the fact stays it is not only in rural but even in cosmopolitan cities sometimes we ourselves bind ourselves with those invisible chains.

Yes coming to Chakor, she did quit as she had to save from KN and at that time her prime concern was freedom physical freedom of her fellowmen but now she is not forced as no one I REPEAT NO ONE will support her like Suraj but she may not want to leave her child due to her trauma about Imli. I donot want to talk about vivaan or Imli... and coming to chakor even MaryKom had twins when she got back to boxing.

In Chakor's case she can get back or she will get back once she is assured that Saanvi's life is safe and she may be questioned by Chagan himself or by Suraj too as to why she is not getting back to her profession but asking others to fly high.

About Chakor being questioned by Chagan or anyone else, I think it can be good even if Chakor decides not to race anymore in spite of their questioning because it can show us male side of this story. I mean questioning anything what Chakor is doing or not doing will clearly affect Suraj. After some thinking even Suraj can ask Chakor to participate in races and he will help in taking care of Saanvi and be example for other husbands, and no matter what Chakor decision after that will be to take a part in races or not it will be great example for male population.

Ruby and Sumi thanks for taking part in disscousing. Loved your views and as you see it made me think even more about this.

Sumi, great points, the majority of women will instinctively choose family over career. Many international champions took breaks to start a family. As you said a support system in the form of an understanding partner and a supportive family that encourage and shoulder part of the responsibility is essential.

Practically, there is nothing stopping Chakor from resuming her career, she's almost 25 or 26 and marathon runners can stay active until their late thirties, staying away from the sport for 5 years is a bigger hindrance than her age, but even that shouldn't be a problem, there was a Japanese tennis player who returned after 12 years of retirement at the age of 38 and had a relatively successful career participating in Grand Slams and winning doubles titles.

I don't think the makers are against returning Chakor to running if it fits their story but they're currently focused on changing Azaadganj and facing Imli one more time.
