Zoya-terrible wife or not?

The track so far seems to suggest that Zoya doesn't know much about Yash. She did not know the status of his business. She did not know his favourite dish. May be Mahi was exaggerating a bit but since her MIL also passively asserted the same, so I guess that would be the truth. Her MIL is still not onboard with Mahi's plan so I guess she wasn't lying just to make her feel bad.

Besides, even if she was lying about gajar ka halwa, Zoya had nothing else to say about his choice in food to counter that. She only said "He did not tell me anything about that" which is not you would expect to hear after years of supposedly perfect marriage. So may be , Zoya indeed was a terrible wife? What do you think ?

P.S: I am just loving Harshad in the show. We have seen many different shades of him so far but Zoya is just going about her crying business all the time. 🥱

I don't think that she was a terrible wife, per se, but it was probably due to her being rather naive that led to this. She doted on Yash, and Yash took her on vacations, got her gifts, praised her pottery, listened to how she had spent the day, etc. And she was happy with that. We never heard about Yash talking about his day, his family, his business - almost as if his two lives were separate - one of Yash Arora and one of 'Yash'. And yeah, it can be seen as negligence on Zoya's part, Mahi even accused her of not being a dutiful wife, but I say that Yash was more to blame about this aspect of their relationship.
Zoya loved him, and in her heart, she knew that Yash loved her just as deeply. She was so caught up in the cute girlfriend/lover phase, that she never took on the role of a wife, although it was unintended. But Yash, he let her be that lover, for what reason no one knows.

Of course, this is how I interpret their relationship.

If he unhappy, he should have said so. If he wanted change, he should not have encouraged her lifestyle or pampered her this much that she had no clue what was going on.
If she can believe Mahi, then he also could have fooled her. I see your pov. But I think if you cant share whats going on, dont expect spouse to read your mind. Cheating was no answer to any of his troubles, if thats what he did.

I live in the U.S. A lot of my close friends don't know that my favorite childhood dish was "kheer." Only mom and grandma know that part about me. If Zoya had known both Yash and his family for as long as Puja knew Adi and his family than that would have been negligence on her part.

Oh, Yash definitely should NOT have made her believe that everything was perfect, that's definitely a cheap thing to do. But from what is in front of us, we can assume that he did exactly that, and that does not paint a pretty picture. He should have come clean, should have tried to fix the marriage. At the very least, they could have parted in friendly terms. But no. Of course,
all this is firmly based on the fact that he did cheat. But even if he didn't, I strongly believe that *he* was at fault. Zoya only knew what he showed her, what he told her, and he hid the truth, or at least some important details of his life. Cheater or not, Yash wasn't a good husband, and he exploited Zoya's innocence.

That could be possible. But again I don't understand.

So one thing is that, may be Yash deliberately let her in live in her la-la land and never shared anything with her. He never told her anything about his work or choices. But I don't see why he would choose to do that especially since the marriage wasn't forced upon him. He fought for Zoya so much that he went against his family's wishes just to hide his life from her. Without even trying to fix his marriage, why would he go straight away for extramarital affair (If indeed it was an extramarital affair, may be it wasn't). Why would he waste so much time and money on Zoya and getting nothing in return ? Nobody was forcing him to stay in marriage, neither his family nor Zoya's family apart from Zoya ofcourse but since she is too naive, he could have easily gotten around her.😆 May be his concern was alimony. 😆 Don't know lol.

Besides, food choices generally do not remain hidden unless you are hell bent on living an artificial life. I mean, I know what my flatmate likes and dislikes for food 😆 and I see him 2-3 times a week lol. It is kinda hard to believe Zoya doesn't know anything after living with him for so many years under the same roof.

Zoya does seem bit unbelievable as a wife...perhaps she tried keeping yash happy and pampering him by gifting him stuff every now and then and not by cooking stuff for him...perhaps she did know yash's favorite dishes as told by yash to her but she didn't counter mahi because being the naive, unsuspecting person she is,she simply believed mahi...tbh the fact that yash had to live 15 days in mussoorie and 15 days in mumbai just because zoya likes hills more than the big city life is more unbelievable to me...I have never heard of something like this...married couples live apart due to more serious reasons.
So this is what I can't wrap my head around. Not only has zoya not lived the difficult life of the outside world but her household life seems to have been really easy because of her unbelievably accomodating husband too.

Harshad does a good job with aditya, I haven't followed much of his past characters but seems like he hasn't done something like aditya before.Prem was the ideal son,ali was sweet and peaceful and while sahir too had layers and complexities and perhaps twistedness to him it wasn't supported by humour like it is in aditya's case.

Perhaps I'm biased, but I never saw Yash being the man Zoya was believed him to be. He was kinda stiff that morning, at least to me he was. The question is, why he got married to Zoya, why he spent half his time in Mussorie, if he was that disinterested(at least that's the vibe I get). And if he did love Zoya that much then I don't know what he was playing at. They were married for 5 years, and he didn't trust her enough to speak to her about the company? Perhaps he didn't want her to worry, he treated her like a princess, so that might be it(might being the keyword), but honestly? I can't make head or tail of his behaviour(although, I admit, I'm not that intrigued by him either, so maybe I'm not using my brain to its fullest).

People behave differently with diff ppl. I know my bro since childhood n i know his likes n dislikes, but now he eats even d things which he didnt like before. May be it is to please his wife or may be he has changed, nothn wrong abt it.
From d flashbacks it looks like both Yash n Zoya loved each other a lot. Zoya almost told everythn to Yash, whereas Yash never shared much, Zoya shud hv asked, but thr r some ppl who don't like to share, may be Zoya thot so same abt him. It is not like if Yash wud hv told abt his likes dislikes n abt his present condition, Zoya wud hv ignored him. She wud hv definitely made effort, but koi bataye tho sahi.
Knowing cinevistas, on one side dy will give us beautiful flashbacks n on other side dy wud show he cheated n wudn't even give us proper answers as to why, it is left to our imagination.

I am just using that thing as an example, like I can understand if one doesn't know a particular dish. The point I think I am making is that she did not have anything to say to about his food choices. May be I am reading too much.

Even my closest friends here in US and in India would not know about some specific things I like because they don't care and even if i told them , they would forget them next day. But that's how friends are. May be I am wrong, but as a spouse I would expect greater consideration for these things.

Ofcourse this isn't a big deal but this combined with the fact that she had no idea about his company's financial condition, seems unbelievable to me. Unless ofcourse he deliberately hid everything but then why would he do that ?
