I think it was set up pretty well, considering this is only the third episode and we've already come to the crux of the story. Understanding Zoya's and Aditya's family dynamics is central to understanding Zoya and Aditya themselves. In episode 2, we get to see whyit's so easy for Aditya's to come to the conclusion that Pooja was cheating on him (because he's seen this happen in his family before and sensed things weren't as they should be in his relationship with her). In episode 3, we see exactly what Zoya was up against when she took that decision to marry Yash those five years ago (in-laws who will use any excuse to blame her and make assumptions about her relationship with him, who will deprive her of her right to take part in his last rites). It gives us an idea why she clings to him and his memories so strongly, why she will go to any length to believe his love for her was genuine.
I think these two episode highlight exactly how alone the two truly are, how bereft. That kind of buildup takes time.

Actually comparing to most other shows, this show is going spot on with the tracks back to back...and yesterday's episode was very much needed to portray Aditya and Zoya's turmoil...since they heard the news, they never got to grieve over it in their own private space...it was completely Aditya vs Zoya and their clashes with their respective family members...how they started to digest the reality and foresee the future gloominess impending in their lives at this point was what we saw yesterday...
So, according to me I didn't find that much dragging in the episode...considering the swift pace in the first two episodes with the leads introduction, the leads meet-up and everything... :)
