Hello everybody, I am new here and this is possibly my first forum.
Speaking of why I chose Kaleerein as my first forum is because I Have always being hooked to this serial, ever since it was on air. Though the promos promised nothing new, the Punjabi backdrop and the fresh face of Aditi hooked me up. So here is my pros and cons:

PROS:

The Punjabi backdrop: Though I am not from Punjab it is quite mesmerising to see the culture of that place. The makers have stayed true to their words and everything from the dialogues to the music and the songs has a Punjabi taste to it. Even the accent of the characters truly show the deep insight of Punjab.

The acting: Though it may seem that the characters are not strongly written, the respective actors acting their part are doing their job fabulously. Aditi being a debutante is quite good at expressing her anger and frustration and at the same time sums up Meera's character perfectly. Even Meera's family shows their expression quite well but you have to accept Meera'S dad looking quite blanche. Or maybe it is just his calm nature we may never know because his inner character is rarely shown. Amaya and Sumeir's family is quite good at expressing their emotions.

Arjit Taneja : The Kaleerein fans here have a plus factor because Arjit as Vivaan is quite swoon worthy. His expressions are something to die for, if you noticed it change from mesmerised, to loving, to playful and back to being stoic again in the cape draping scene. His acting is very good and so is his chemistry with Aditi both onscreen and off.

A strong topic: The makers has decided to work on a strong topic, #changehernot is quite an important discussion in this modern day world. Meera is a strong and proud woman who doesn't want to change just to get married. The makers stick to this topic and they are working on it.

CONS:

A cliche : The show Kaleerein is a cliche, we already know what is going to happen between Meera and Vivaan even before they meet. The fact that a middle class girl marries a rich man has being quite cliche since the time unknown. Though their chemistry is sizzling sometimes the makers tend to divert from their initial agenda that is #changehernot. We need to remember that even though Vivaan and Meera maybe the lead and they maybe destined to be together, the show is not actually all about their love story.

A slow pace: one important factor that has been troubling the fans is that the show is moving in a snail's pace. The fans have already gotten updated for lots of episodes but show is quite behind it all. They are literally dragging on the show with things that may have being completed in just a few days time.

Character depth: You my agree with me that we literally don't know half of the characters. It is like they are only their to add some dialogues, the only people we truly know are Vivaan and Meera sometimes Dolly and Silky's mother. It is like we have lost Amaya, who was doing a good job during the first few weeks.

I much more to add to this list of pros and cons of Kaleerein but right now I can conclude that Kaleerein is a show which is real and entertaiting for people shIping the couples but all in all it is a cliche but whoever said that cliche cannot be good?

Hey hii merry_suzee. Welcome to the forum 🤗

For me, it is a typical desi Mills and Boon, woven around a strong theme. It's definitely cliched and the CVs also take the route of cliched situations to prove their point... that could be done differently IMO. The mother of all cliches would be Vivaan speaking up for Meera during the 'character assassination'- an upcoming scene.😆
But yes, overall, the show is a pleasant cliche. 😳

Agree with most of the points. The actors are mostly good but characters are under developed. Some characters are downright annoying- like Laali 🥱

Presently, I feel the biggest minus is that too many sub-plots are running simultaneously, thus slowing the pace. With all the spoiler videos being out, the audience is bound to feel impatient.

Indeed, it would be difficult for the CVs to maintain that balance between romance and the theme in itself. I'd say the chemistry is palpable and the makers just hit the jackpot here. Both the leads come without any excess fandom baggage, are playing their age and are decent actors. This makes the pair fresh.
I don't think the makers imagined the lead pair to over power other plots like that and are now confused. Male lead didn't even feature in the promos... he was actually introduced towards the end of first week. How that affected the opening of the show is a debate for another day!

So whatever we are watching now is all pre-shot and thus has more of drama. The present spoiler videos tell a different tale however. 😉
I'm not complaining though. I genuinely feel the male lead deserves more screen space than Dolly jee. 😆

But all is not lost... the show has potential and I think the writers will figure it out.

Lovely write up and thanks for the thread. Hope to see more topics from you. 😊
