Television stars charm Margao audience |
BY HERALD REPORTER MARGAO, FEB 17 — The marriage episode involving Bollywood stars Sanjay and Manyata might have left a bitter row behind in the City earlier this week, so to say. But, the weekend saw celebrity stars from the small screen, Hiten and Gauri Tejwani — known popularly as Karan and Nandidi Virani of the Kyun ki Saas... — literally taking the youth by storm, as the duo descended at the BPS Club Lawns, Margao on Saturday to inaugurate GENESIS 08 organised by Rotaract District 3170. Both Hiten and Gauri did not hide their love for Goa, when they confessed that they treat Goa as their second home, visiting the State at least four times a year. This year was no different as the duo came down to celebrate Valentine's Day. "Believe in yourself. Put in hard work. Nothing is impossible or difficult to achieve", was the message both Hiten and Gauri conveyed to the young Rotaract members after inaugurating GENESIS 2008. Sharing his life experiences with the Rotractors, Hiten said today's youth tend to be independent and ambitious, as compared to his times, when the hardly any openings after graduation. He remembered his father telling him to follow what one believes in and life would turn out the best. "I waited and waited for years before I got an insignificant role on TV. But, my sincerity and hard work was immediately noticed and I got big roles. I worked hard and now I have earned the love of everyone — from the audience, employers, everyone", he said. Gauri's message was no different, when she stressed on hard work to achieve success. "It's not intelligence or the looks, but sheer hard work, perseverance and determination that matters in this competitive world", she said. "I am well established in the field of entertainment, not because of my intelligence or looks, but because of hard work and determination" , she added. The duo tried to steer clear of all controversies on the agitation against north-Indians in Mumbai. |
