I remember this as my mum was visiting Chennai during this period and was out shopping at the Nallis and when the news broke, the shops were shut and my mum along with other shoppers had to be escorted out of the back door after the initial shock had died down. I was in Mum and frantically trying to reach her and remained worried until she returned home safely in the late evening..she managed to call me from the shop when the jammed phone lines were free. It's etched in my memory like it were yesterday. As for Gujarat.. I don't know if there were incidents of violence but there was some disruption of transport in some places so I am assuming that aspect may come into play

even i felt that there wil b disruption in transportation but not riots,if this spoiler is true..I stil remember there was a problem wit transportation coz i had to travel to another city from Hyderabad tat day..
