Avni's decisions were justified until her meeting with Neel.
Avni feels likes she's a bad omen. She lost two mothers in her life. Her father was snatched away from her due her grandmother and his own cowardice. She didn't get to meet her brother until it was too late to completely redeem him. Because of Vidyut's infatuation with her, Neel and his family were going to be in danger.
So in order to keep her only remaining family safe, she gave up herself. She gave up her love, her happiness, her personality and her identity to keep Neel safe. She legit has just become a shell of Avni. Previously Avni had changed herself to become Ananya, to exact revenge. But this time, she removed herself to become Neelanjana,To keep the father and the grandmother she never had safe. Even Shweta had began treating her like a daughter. But most importantly, a doting husband who would do anything for her, safe too. In her eyes, she would have been selfish if she stayed because that meant putting her perfect family in danger just for her benefit.
So her decision was justified, in her mind. I don't agree with her decision, since Neel is such a dreamboat and we saw the pain Neel has gone through but I understand where she's coming from. Plus the fact that Avni apparently kept blank calling the Khanna house, meant that she knew enough to know that her family was safe.
Now we've gotten the holi episode and the aftermath, I think her decision contradicts with the confession Neel made. That Neel puts his life in danger in order to just get a glimpse of her and it's those near-death experiences that make him feel alive. I understand that she was too overwhelmed when she met him to discuss that matter. Tell the drunken him not to endanger his life, otherwise she wont even appear in his dreams, or something along those lines.
Yet she hasn't been shown to worry about this fact at all. I know we'll see her seeing Neel actually be in a risky situation. But I personally believe that confession was heartbreaking, and it should have affected Avni. She should have struggled on what she should do next. She's just remained adamant on hiding from Neel. I know we've seen her feelings for Neel, we know she still loves him. We've seen her reasoning on why has to hide. Vidyut is only behind bars due to her death. Yet I wanted to see her concern for Neel's behavior. I want her to second guess her decision before confronting Neel and not just because of the heat of the moment. I want to see her struggle. Like we saw for less than half a minute when she first saw Neel again after the 10 years. I think Neel's struggle was much better visualised during the jail track, than Avni's struggle has been here. I know we see Avni talking to young Avni. But we need her to have a conversation with herself, expressing her weakness, before the young Avni appears and tells her that she has to keep going.
I know the hit and miss game is nearly over, and although the cinematography has been beyond beautiful, I wish we just saw more of Avni and her reasoning in depth, compared to wasting screenspace with Saesha's KK drama. I don't mind Saesha getting screenspace, but I don't think her dreaming about KK should be seen as much as it is, that it affects the multi-faceted-ness of the two lead characters.
