Part 27 : Stuck in the storm
Recap: Shopping done!
Phone dead for both Suraj and Chakor!
Back to their way home, stuck in rain!
Getting the shopping bags, both got down of the jeep and ran towards the settler which looked mostly like a small platform in front of the little hut.
Knocking the door made in coconut leaves, he asked "Is there anyone? Hello! Anyone is there?"
"This is not a phone call to say Hello!" she commented before pulling that door, revealing an empty space with just a mat and a pot of water in the corner of the hut.
"No one!" she said as she entered followed by him as they put the bags down.
"We have to wait for the rain to stop!"
"If it didn't stop now?"
"Aren't you a sports teacher? When you ask your students to think positive, do you keep on thinking negatively?"
'Oh oh this man needs to keep his mouth shut!'
'This is not a new thing!'
'You too! Keep quiet!' his heart.
"As if you don't think negatively!"
"Chakor!" he called her with thoughts running in his head.
"Hmm?" with a questioning look as his tone changed.
"Why are you not wanting to take your future a step ahead?" he asked taking care of using correct words "Like marriage, children, career..." he added as her face fell and she turned. "Why do you always avoid this topic? Taking me as a friend, you can share you know!"
'Is he suggesting her to talk out or him changing to being a friend only?'
'As if he tells me everything before he opens his mouth!' his mind said shrugging its whatever.
"Why now?" she asked still facing the wall.
"May be I can stand by your side as a friend, in time of need!" he said calmly.
'Now it's confirmed! He is no more in love with her!'
'Isn't that what I always tried to get in your head?'
'My poor heart!'
"It's just that I'm not interested in marriage!"
"I feel like there is something more than that!"
"Can we please talk about something else? Please!" facing him.
"Huhhh hahh" he shook his head negatively.
Giving up, she started "I liked one person who was meant to be someone else's love and it's hard to move!" closing her eyes tight as if asking to forget the past.
"And?"
"Nothing!" opening her eyes and acting normal.
"And that someone is your friend who happened to be your coach's love!" he said casually making her mouth form an O
"How?" she asked getting herself.
"Your eyes! That day! Your hesitations! Everything said some other story that day!"
"Oh!" she looked shocked but at the same time trying to study herself.
'Now he is going to think that I'm bad, this and that!'
'He is not like that!'
'How can be so sure?'
'Because I'm her heart and heart knows the real person!'
"You are not in love with him! You got affected to him and you thought the care he has on you is love! But when you got to know he is not yours. I mean he is in love with your friend, your idea of being in love with him became a broken story and it's just hurting you!" in one go he said it all, looking at her.
"Huh?"
"Just think! Sorry if I'm over talking but as a friend, I think I can at least tell you this much!"
"Hmmm" she nodded as she went into silent mode while he went to check on the weather.
'He is really good in heart!'
'But he was kind of judging you!'
'He is telling the facts Chakor! Listen to him! You were not in love!'
'I think I will also agree to that!'
'Then shall we search someone for you?'
'Again! You are so full of preoccupations Heart!'
'I'm just doing my duty! My lovely Mind!'
"He has a point!" she murmured to herself as she made her way towards the place where he stood "Thank you!"
He simply smiled "I think rain will stop in few minutes!"
"Hmm! Feeling light!"
"Happy for that!" and slowly the rain started to stop until no drop were falling from the sky. "Come!" he said as he took few bags in one hand.
"I will take the rest!" she said as she took the rest.
As they stepped out of the hut, all they could see was darkness.
"It's slippery! Be steady!" he said as he made her walk in front of him.
"Okay!" she said and stepped to only slip.
With the hand full of bags, he put it on the rod which was planted by the side as she took hold of his shirt with her free hand while his other hand went around her form to hold her in time, so that she don't kiss the mud.
And in that process, his feet slipped and she also held the rod to get a support while his lips landed accidently on her jawline, just under the left cheek as they stabilized their position, looking at each other with wide eyes.
'Should I consider as a lovely, cute, adorable kiss or'
'Don't consider it's of anything!' mind warned 'It's just an accidental kiss!'
'Oh! Okay!' His heart sadly expressed.
'What was that?'
'What what?' her mind questioned
'The look in his eyes and tingling sensation I'm feeling!'
'Oh! It's nothing! If it's something, I promise you I will let you know it!'
'Thank you!'
And both turned their face in opposite side feeling awkward as silence made the place in between them with their hearts playing cards with their minds inside their own souls.
