Dharma signs deal with Netflix for digital show

There is a strong digital wave in and around the city and there is no escaping it. Big production houses, big directors and even big stars are all open to experiment and push for a web based show. Excel Entertainment are at the forefront of it all with their exclusive deal with Amazon Prime. But now the big daddy of them all Dharma Production is going to be foraying into the digital space and from what our sources are telling us they intend to come in, in a big way. The production house has signed a deal with Netflix and their first show is going to be headed by director Shakun Batra who obviously last directed the sleeper hit from 2016 KAPOOR & SONS. The director has locked on a female driven show which Netflix International has apparently jumped at. The makers are now on the lookout to lock the cast and also the paperwork with the international streaming company. Our highly placed sources told us that a big A-list actress has already been approached for the show and she is going to revert to the folks at Dharma very soon as well. Watch this space!
