Loving Shiv was never easy.Both recall some heart wrenching moments,dormant, smarting, yet all memorable components of their love.Presently,its Valentine's day. It prompt's Shiv to tender an apology to Sharanya.. many moons ago,he was sharp with her..
Memories of Valentine's day three years ago, dwindle into present day.They stroke up pain within her, yet she relives it willingly,for this was their love,sweetly bitter.
What was it about Shiv that gravitated her towards him? alas! She recalls, his extraordinary height was not the only thing.For looks were merely cosmetic.It was shared experiences related to lofty ladder man, that allowed Shiv to make space into Sharanya's vacant heart.She was young, smart,secure in every way.He was aloof ,distant,indifferent,clearly a loner,who preferred his own company.Yet,to Sharanya,he was the broody guy who pulled her out of many a sticky situation without being fussy and obvious about them.
His withdrawn, keeping to himself persona challenged her into exposing the giant with a golden heart.It was a feel good sentiment, to realize Shiv had somehow tiptoed into her heart. She was never short of exposing expressive thoughts into actions.Three years ago Valentine's day an enactment of the traditional, tragic love story of Heer Ranjha would be the sounding board of how they felt for each other before the world audience.The rehearsals Sharanya took as icebreakers to their love.. but then this was Sharanya ,unchecked in her rashness! She hated wasting time! Hence when the Valentine's day came three years ago. Inundated with true love for Shiv she came before him to discuss matters of the heart!
Will you be my Valentine?? His dismissal, rejection of her action,left her scorned ,rejected, almost in shock. Even today the memory of being coldly spurned by him, smarts within her.
However,today, Sharanya is wiser, she understands why Shiv reacted the way he did. He was one rejected by destiny. An orphan without blood relations of any sort. Comparsions between her and him would understandly crop up in his mind. She was well off, with a family. While he was financially needy and barely got by. This Valentine's day Sharanya is sensitive to why he literally threw her gifts! Her cuddly toy mocked him. Shiv was quite deviod of maternal and paternal hugs! She had failed to see that his sense of general deprivation, never meant Shiv lacked self respect. The last thing he wanted was self pity. The man had integrity. Only he was wary of people's intent,suspicious of their motives. Hence he sent meassages of being cold, heartless and bloody minded!Today Sharanya understands, being a loner meant being secure to him. There was no betrayal involved,even if he was betrayed ,Shiv would only have to hold himself accountable and no one else!
She loved one who wanted to be unloved.. today tears well up in Sharanya's eyes,she recalls,he fought to push her love away.Spoke the unkindest of words, even questioned her virtous declaration of love before him. She recalls, his hurtful references to her being frivilous,flirty and flitting from boy to boy at every valentine's day.Today she understands why he said those words? Shiv was a sentimental reject,in terms of relationships. Shrannya apart from Devi Maa was the only human whom he was beginning to bond with. Question was ,could he trust her?? it was a risk Shiv was afraid to take.
Sharanya's heart knew, Shiv wanted to be loved.. but was insecure.
Today she recalls, she too said the most cruelest of words to him! paying back his character assault upon her with equally crucifying personality disorder accusations at him! Today her heart winces.. she was horrid that day, paid his rejection with her rejecting him! so she could soften his heart! For Sharanya knew he was the sad,sorry ,Shiv.. in role of Ranjha or as the gentle giant! which ever? Sharanya will love the man who fears to be loved!
Today,they both smile fondly, at how she had carped at him, for his rudness by telling him, turn up if wants to for the play.. and the play will go on even if he doesnt!... but Sharnaya faces it today.. his enacting as her Ranjha was important to her.. it was then literally a declaration of his love for her..would he spurn her??Sharanya had feared..
We were created with love.We desire to be loved,and dread being scorned,spurned and rejected.But it's all about loving one's self too..Vyom is all out to loving Sharanya. In turn he expects to get her love. So far Vyom only faces her rejection. He killed Shiv to win her acceptance. But Shiv's spirit now poses fresh problems for Vyom. For Vyom too,valentine's day three years ago brings back some dark memories! Public humiliation of his love! this Valentine,he will do a repeat performance of a love story.. where he will tweak Heer Ranjha tragic ending! Where Vyom Sharanya will end up living happliy ever after..
The shackled lady by the lake,is plagued by being scorned by love. she too was rejected many years ago.. Rajan is her perpetrator.Now she finds some respite in the saying what goes around comes around. Today the apple of Rajan's eye will bring doom to him. One's deeds hound to bite them!just when they think they made it!
Today Sharanya is role again. On the face of it , celebrates her and Vyom's love; gives Shiv the impression this is her final act before she exits the Bedi house stage! But the reality it's partly true.. she will expose Vyom, will exit.. this house or the land of the living? But a winner she will be of loving ,one who was afraid to be loved! As true love finds a way!
Vyom.. looks foward to Sharanya's Valentine's party for him. he knows she plays a game.. he'll play it too! He'll lose it to appease her. But no way in hell will he accept defeat at the hands of Shiv ,whom he toppled over in this life! tonight he will snuff out Shiv's spirit back to where it belongs! Shiv shamed him once, not any more though! So let tonight's performance begin!
The parandi.. a symbol of love, and for Shiv and Sharanya, memories of the play on Valentine's day.. today Sharanya smiles looking at the colourful braid.. how true Shiv's love from three years ago still stays woven intricately with her heart.. after all they went through.. Sharanya went through.. their love still prevails.
Facing the music all alone.. Sharanya that day, become a loner like Shiv!!! His absence in role and in person, strengthened , not shamed her before the audience. It was a moment for her to prove to him ,before all,that Sharanya was not foolling around with him. He had misjudged her, not every one is prone to betray a sincere heart. Her presence on the stage, almost tells the world, she is not ashamed to love the one she loves.. she is a new age woman, who can take rejection in a stride but not deny her love!
Her pride, faith and trust in love does not go unrewarded.
Two Ranjhas venture forth to declare their true to Heer. But Heer's heart only chooses her true love.. Shiv.. as it were, he was present on the world's stage with her! while the other Ranjha stood and waited in the aisle before the stage, blocking the applauding audience view! But tonight Vyom hopes to reverse the Heer Ranjha casting.. Heer only belongs to Ranjha that's him!.. hamlet53 2.3.18
Sorry this is a concise version of a great episode. Please see the episode to get the true flavour of the episode. All three stars,Donal, Namik, Vyom,were incredible in role..especially Donal. Direction wise I thought it was well made, shuttling back and forth in time.. according to recap looks like Shranya's interrogation has cracked a confession out of the Shiv's killer!
