Their engagement was scheduled after two days. Shaurya was trying his best to find Mehek's location. He finally got to know about Rohit who was Sonal's boyfriend. He reached him got to know that Sonal and Mehek are both at Mehek's house. He got Mehek's address and left for the place. While on the way he realised that he had been here before but he kept on going. After reaching at her house he remembered that it is the same house where he came to see the girl for his marriage. He stopped his car outside the front gate and started thinking that what if mehek is the girl that his parents have chosen for his marriage. He get really excited thinking about his and Mehek's marriage. He thought not to go from the main gate. He tried to sneak up on their house and luckily found a window open. It was of the kitchen. First he looked if anybody was there or not. He saw mehek and Sonal standing there. Mehek was wearing a beautiful blue saree. He stood there and watched mehek cook. He was lost in her. Suddenly Sonal left the kitchen and finding it as an good opportunity he jumped in. Mehek was shocked to see him.
"Shaurya! You! What are you doing here? She said.
"Ssh! I came here to meet you. Don't make any sound. He said in a low voice.
"Ok..but why?
"Because you were not picking up my calls and you didn't even tell me that you were leaving.
"But why should have I told you... They both heard someone heading towards the kitchen. Mehek immediately opened the door of the refrigerator and Shaurya his behind it.
It was Mohit.
"Di. What happened why are you standing like this?
"Nothing. What are you doing here? She asked him. "Are you hungry?
Suddenly mehek felt Shaurya touch her hand and kiss it. She was shocked by his action. Her body shivered with his touch.
"No I'm not hungry. I think..I ..should leave. He said after looking at her weird antics and left.
Just as he left Shaurya who was sitting on his knees behind the kitchen counter pulled mehek down. Her face was so close to his.
"Shaurya! Are you mad? What were you doing? If anybody had...she scolded him angrily.
" I love you. He said.
Her jaw dropped open. She was shocked to hear this.
"What? What did you say?
"I said that I love you. And I learned from my father that we should say whatever is in our heart before it's too late and see you are getting married.
"...mehek wanted to say something but words died in her mouth. He was holding her waist tightly and looking into her eyes.
"What should I do now?mehek said
"Um...firstly tell me that you love me back.
"But I don't.
"Trust me. You do. I see it in your eyes. Mehek turned her face away to avoid looking into his eyes.
She didn't say anything for a while. He was just caressing her hair.
"Do you have any sister? He asked. He wanted to confirm if she was the girl who is marrying.
"No..but why are you asking all this? She was really confused.
"Because you are getting married.
"So what?
"Let me complete. Miss. Sharma
"Go on
"You are getting married..
"Unh..
"To me.
"What! Shaurya stop joking. Just leave she said while getting up.
She was in a state of shock. She had never thought that she would get married to someone who she has met and had an instant crush on. Shaurya stood up and sat on the shelf. He picked up an apple and started eating it.
"Believe if or not. It's true. You will soon get to know.
"If it is so. Prove it now.
"Okay. If you insist.
"Uncle! Uncle! Can you come here in the kitchen. It's your son-in-law
"Shaurya what are you doing,have you gone mad? Mehek was shocked by his action. Her eyes popped out and her heartbeat rose. What will father think of me if he sees him here. She was tensed and Shaurya was enjoying eating his apple.
Mehek's father came in the kitchen and saw both of them.
"You! Mehek's father said. Mehek was scared at that time and thought that she is gone now.
"What are you doing here son in law? He asked Shaurya. Mehek's eyes popped out when she heard this.
"Oh! Nothing father in law. I was just passing by and thought to meet my would be wife since I never got to meet her. Shaurya said mischievously looking at her.
"Son,you would have told me before. You can take mehek with you if you want.
"Oh!yes that's a good idea. We will be back soon. He said getting down of the shelf.
"But father.. mehek tried to interrupt but her father says that she should go with Him and spend some time.
They both leave in shaurya's car.
"What happened miss Sharma why aren't you speaking ?
"Why did you do this?
"Why did I do what?
"Sent proposal for marriage at my home. You know I wanted to study and become independent.but now..
"Oh! Hello I didn't send any proposal. My parents fixed this marriage without asking me and you can continue your studies after marriage I don't have any problem.
They remained quite for the rest of the journey. He stopped the car in front of a lake. She got out and sat on a bench. She looked sad. Shaurya went and sat beside her. He placed his hand on her. "Mehek he took her name. She didn't respond. It was then when he realised that she was crying.
He wanted to console her, hug her but he was confused about if it would be right. He came near her and hugged her tightly. "Mehek please don't cry.
She rested her head on his chest and cried. She clenched his shirt in her hands.
"Shaurya I have my dreams. She said in between her sobs.
"Mehek I'm sorry. If you want I can cancel our marriage.
She didn't reply anything but her hold in his shirt tightened. As if she did not want him to leave her.
"Mehek I love you and will keep loving you till my last breathe. When I first met you I knew that you were the one. I fell in love with you when I saw you. You were mine then and there. I wish I could explain your eyes and how the sound of your voice gives me butterflies and how your smile makes my heart skip a beat. You know I am a student of medical science and I have always wondered how a healthy heart could skip a beat but I got the answer when I met you for the first time. You are beautiful in every way and I just want to hug you and keep you close to me. He then kissed her forehead and reassured her that he will always be by her side.
Mehek loved his company and how he consoled her after a while he got her some ice cream to cheer her mood. They talked about their likes and dislikes while eating the ice cream. Later Shaurya dropped her home and left for his home.
I think This will be wrapping up in two more chapters. And there's a big twist ahead. Beware. 😃
