Here we have Naina who is rigid when it comes to social norms and values. She follows it blindly irrespective of what her opinion is about it.
Then we have Sameer who is more on to the liberal side when it comes to following norms and values. He did like to break a few if it didn't make any sense but with in the bounds of the law of land and his principles.
Now what happens when these two people fall in love?? Yesterday this concept was shown so beautifully. The class room symbolizes their world which is bound by moral values and social norms. Both know that they love each other and want to spend the rest of their life as life partners. He wants to claim her as his by holding her. His liberal mind says to hold her close to him he doesn't need social acceptance because for him what matters is her permission and his willingness to love and protect her.
She likes the idea. She wants to follow his liberal thoughts as its more enjoyable and relaxing than her strict world. His love makes her question her own addiction to these values which are blindly followed. She has been brought up with the idea that any intimacy between man and woman is only after marriage /acceptance by society . Her conflicting mind made her wait till his hand reached very close to hers, but her brain won over her heart. She ran and held on to the window grill which was rigid just like her belief on moral values and social norms.
Sameer understood and respected her thoughts because his core values and morals are same as hers . It's the approach that is different. So he follows her cages her by holding on to the same grill making her understand his values are same as hers, there by encouraging her to accept his affection. She couldn't wait anymore, she had to accept it.
With that both confessed their love for eachother. The position in which they stood is important . Both holding on to the moral values and norms they confess their love. Sameer standing caging her , protecting her from every evil of the free world.
Here a liberal person like Sameer became a lot more responsible . There by we see love bringing in control to his life. On the other hand Naina a rigid person after the confession, she pulls away from the window grill and liberates herself suggesting more freedom . For Naina , this love liberates her.
But does that mean they will be happy in other persons world. I would say , not completely. They will need time to adjust and accommodate each other's characters, needs etc into their life. And hence the song "Mein Solah Baraski.
Which means , they have fallen in love . For that love to mature will need time.
They say a woman always want a man who is in control but not a man who is controlling and this is the best part of Naina and Sameer's relationship. Sameer will be in control of their relationship but never controlling her. So...
Does love control a person , yes it does
Does love liberate a person , yes it does
But ...THERE IS NOTHING THAT YOU CAN CONTROL ABOUT LOVE and HENCE ITS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL FORCE IN THE UNIVERSE!!
PS : Now a quick note on the other two couples
Shifali and Arjun.
Here Arjun is in Naina's place and Shefali is in Sameer's place. But that doesn't mean she is like Sameer. She is very different from Sameer in lot many ways . She will never break rules or bend rules the way Sameer does. She did rather say openly that she doesn't understand the rule and hence not follow it . I feel Arjun might go against the family especially his dad to accept Shefali in his life. The way he stayed back with her and allowed the family to travel in the car that he earned clearly speaks a lot about their relationship.
Preethi and Rohan.
Preethi is more like Sameer than Shefali. So my guess is Rohan will be more like Naina and my heart says , he will be a nice boy and would want to be close to Sameer. It would be his father who plays dirty to distance him from Sameer . I also feel like Arjun , Rohan is pressurized by his dad to be successful. Well its my guess...need not be that way..We will need to wait to see Rohan on screen.
