Back in her city after hours of flight, she made her way towards the Editor's room "Edy!"
"Yes!" the lady said as she extended her hand, asking Madhu to take a seat.
As she sat "So what did you think?" she asked referring to all the work she sent through mail and her friend before she reached her city.
"It's a thoughtful, mature" getting up from her seat, she continued "well-written story" hearing these, the young lady's face shone bright even if sadness was written all over her eyes "That will never see the light of day!" the Editor finished making Madhu to frown as she also got up.
"What?"
"It is a puff piece, Miss. Malik" she said with a straight face "Pure schmaltz. Not our brand!"
"But it's honest and it's the truth!" the young reporter said what her writings mean for her.
"You were at ground zero! You had the adoption papers in your hands!" walking around the table, and sat on it as she continued "You really blew it big time Miss."
"But this is who he is! And this is what really happened!" with seriousness.
"I really don't care!" Edy said putting the report papers on the table and folding her hands over her chest, with attitude, few more words flew "In the meantime, I need you to jump back on the copy desk. Moh's article needs a polish!"
Taking her papers "You know what? Find someone else to do your mop jobs!" Madhu said it strongly as she turned on her heels.
"Excuse me?" shocked of the small gift she got from her employee.
"I'm done!" she said without facing her as she made her way out of the room, to her table.
Closing her laptop, pulling the box from under her table, she got her things inside it.
"So what are you gonna do now?" Sikky asked as she was standing on the side of Madhu's table.
"Time to focus on my own work!" she said as she put her laptop in its bag and closed it.
"That's what I have been saying all along!" Trish said as she sat on the now empty table of her friend's.
"I'm gonna start with a blog!" Sikky nodded his head listening to his dear friend "About King Rishab, the real story!" she said with a confident look.
"You are my hero, Sunshine!" Sikky side hugged his friend.
Days started to pass with the King taking his power, and getting to know his subjects' needs while she on the other side, did the work she planned to do in her world.
And the only common thought that crossed both their heart and mind constantly was the happy moments they spent together.
***
People covered in their sweater, enjoyed the different music that was presented inside the restaurant.
"Happy almost New Year, everybody!" Madhu's father wished happily as he served cool drinks to his lovely daughter and her friends who were seated in one corner of the restaurant.
"Happy almost New Year!" they all wished in return as they clinked their glasses with a happy smile in all the faces expect one who looked like not so natural.
