Great update Payal. I love how ShivIka's relationship is progressing. So Daksh knows now. I wonder what his reaction his, like what he's going to do now.

Guys, I'll try to finish Soothing The Fire soon, by hopefully giving more regular updates. I will give it a proper ending, don't worry. This is the story that made me fall in love with writing fanfics, and made me meet such wonderful people on this forum (Read: you ALL) so there's no way I'll leave it just like that without a closure. Anyway, hope you like this chapter. Do give me likes and comments since it motivates me to update faster. I know a lot of people have left the forum which is why response has deteriorated, but the few of you out there who are still reading this, I'd like to know that you are ❤️

It was the day of Annika and Shivaay's return, and none of them were ready for the Goa trip to end just yet. Packing their bags with an upset composition, Annika wondered how the past week had flown by in the blink of an eye. Regardless to say, it had been the best trip of her life, and she was entirely thankful to her man for giving her this blissful experience. Never would she have thought that she would get something like this in her life, and now, throwing into her suitcase all the cheapdi clothes she had worn all week, she wondered how she had gotten so lucky. A knock on the door brought her out of her reverie.

"Hey," Shivaay greeted her as he entered. He had gone to the reception to fulfil all the formalities of checking out. They were to leave the room in a couple of hours, and Shivaay's state was much the same as Annika, if not worse.

"Hi," Annika said, a sad smile on her face. She was about to move back to packing, but Shivaay wrapped his arms around her waist, and engulfed her in a back hug.

"I'll miss this so much," he breathed out, while nuzzling deeply into her neck.

"Miss what?" Annika said just as breathlessly, his touch burning a trail on the sensitive skin of her neck.

"Indulging in you whenever I want. From tomorrow, we'll have to go back to hiding our relationship, stealing kisses when no one's watching, and all that. God, I'll miss you so much."

It took a lot of will power for Annika to grasp out of his hold and turn around to cup his face.

"But you have to admit," She started, a teasing smile on her face, "There's something really thrilling about a secret relationship."

Shivaay grinned at her words, and turned his head to kiss her palm.

"True, but then again, I want to kiss you hard in front of the world and let them know you're mine." Saying so, he descended his lips down upon hers, in a long, scorching kiss that took her breath away. Entrance into her mouth was easily gained, and soon, they were backing away and towards the bed. Frantically moving away the clothes kept on the bed without breaking any contact with her, Shivaay laid Annika down and hovered over her. Pulling back in order to breath, Shivaay stared down at her beautiful form. Her lips that he adored so much were swollen and looked even more attractive, while her wild hair was messed up and sprawled on the mattress. She was a breathtaking beauty, a Goddess of some sort.

"You're so beautiful," Shivaay whispered, rubbing his stubble against her soft cheeks, making her giggle, "I'll miss cuddling with you all night long."

"Me, too," Annika said, wrapping her arms around him and making him rest his head on her shoulder, "I'll miss this place, this room. Thank you so much for this wonderful trip Shivaay, I love you."

"Sshh, baby," Shivaay said, looking up and noticing her moistened eyes, "you don't have to thank me. You coming on this trip with me is an honor for me, Annika. And trust me, these 7 days will help me get through the tough days that are coming, so it's me who should thank you."

Annika smiled at that, overwhelmed by everything this man made her feel. Being with him made her feel better about herself, as if his love for her radiated itself into her own heart. Shivaay rested his forehead against her, and gave her a small peck.

"We'll come back here soon, okay?" he assured her, and she nodded. Shivaay's cheapda-ness then kicked in, and he leaned in closer into her ears.

"After all, now that I know how hot my girl looks in a bikini, I love beaches and pools even more..."

Annika's face turned red at his words, and she bent her head to hide her embarrassment.

"What," Shivaay said, laughing, "you've gone and worn all these clothes in front of me, but you're shy hearing about it, eh?"

Smacking him on the chest, Annika told him to shup up, hiding her face in his chest. Laughing, Shivaay rolled over her to lay beside her, and pulled her into him.

"But seriously, babe," he said, caressing her back with his hand under her top, "I'm so glad you decided to let go of your inhibitions and be comfortable with I bought for you. You look so sexy in all of them, and I can't wait to have you wear more of my purchases..." he trailed off, and Annika knew he was talking about making her wear lingerie when the time came. Instead of shying away, she actually looked forward to it, too.

"I can't wait, either." She whispered into his ear, her voice turning husky, before she bit his earlobe. Shivaay groaned, and rolled over her again.

"If you keep on doing this," he said, pausing to place a lingering kiss on her neck at which she moaned and grasped his hair tightly, "I'll be tempted to prolong our trip for another week."

Laughing at his words, Annika shoved him away and got up to resume packing.

"Enough messing around, now help me pack." She ordered, throwing his way a bundle of clothes that needed to be folded. Shivaay however, hadn't had enough, and pulled her onto his lap.

"How about we pack later," He said, looking at her with intense eyes, "and spend our last few hours in Goa doing much more interesting things?" He brought his lips closer to hers here, and after she nodded, took them in his hungrily. Thus, they got into another heated kissing session, forgetting all about packing, and everything else other than each other, for the time being.

To say that Daksh was shocked would be an understatement. Shivaay was the last person he would have expected to be involved with Annika romantically, since he knew of his best friend's obsession with naam, khoon and khandaan, and from his extensive research knew that Annika did not possess any of these. Om and Rudra and refused to reveal any thing other than the fact that Shivaay and Annika were together, refusing even to answer why Shivaay was still engaged to Tia in that case. In return, Daksh had asked them to do him a favor and not tell Shivaay anything about him liking Annika.

"It was just a stupid crush, anyway," He had told them. "I wouldn't want this to create any problem between me and Shivaay. And anyway, now that I know Annika is my bhabi, I don't think of her that way."

That, however, had been a blatant lie.

Daksh Khurana was still madly attracted to Annika, and the simple fact that she was taken, that too by his very own best friend, did not deter him. In fact, the fact that Shivaay had her even when he was supposedly committed to another made Daksh furious. Annika deserved better, and breaking a vase in his room in rage, Daksh decided that he was better.

"Get ready to be mine, Annika." Daksh said, sneering. Picking up his phone, he made a few calls, and smirked satisfactorily after hanging up.

"Hope you both enjoyed your Goa trip," Daksh said, referring to Shivaay and Annika, having found out their whereabouts by listening to OmRu's conversation discreetly "and hope you like your grand welcome at the airport even better."

As I mentioned in the last chapter, I have changed the story line a bit, and hadn't been planning on making Daksh negative initially.

Loved the new twist. Would wait for the next update. Also your The Dating Charade is amazing.
