Being an elder Diya should have refused Ratan's offer of marriage at that point. She is the stronger of the 2 given her experience of 12 years. She is a hardened person, who has faced obstacles and over come them. She is also a woman who is knowledgeable and successful. Above all she knows how much Ratan is totally not into this marriage. But she did not refuse the marriage.Ratan in his conversation with Yash said that he listened to his innervoice and that is what made him marry Diya. He obviously did not marry her for his dad or FIL's promise, or out of pity for Diya. He did it cause something within him prompted him to do this act.

She did not refused for marriage because of Sajjan Singh, thank God he is out. But you really think Ratan did this because of his inner voice? I still think he did that for the letter. Parents and their wishes.
I don't find her as the worse of the two...Ratan is no baby and he knows how Sajjan is.
Knowingly or unknowingly, he cornered her...if he hadn't put forth this idea then Sajjan wouldn't have started his drama and manipulations.
The problem at the end of the day is the horrible writing and execution of this track, they had to compromise with Diya's character.
What an amazing character she used to be and now look at what she is but Ratans character during this whole track took one hell of a beating. For some like me, he's become unbearable to watch...they're taking this whole immature/childish shtick too far.
I will never feel sympathy for Ratan, he can suffocate all he likes but I wish he would stop suffocating Diya...had I not know how indian tv works or who the endgame is...I would happily ship Diya and Yash but unfortunately despite being the better ship (as of now anyways) it wont happen unfortunately.

We have two sides to a coin.Immature Ratan marries Diya to keep a promise. Mature Diya marries Ratan to keep a promise. Both are equally wrong. But she is more wrong than him. Diya and Ratan know each other, she knows he will not be happy with this marriage. He knows that he is not ready for a marriage and definitely not to someone who is an elder with different views. His immaturity makes him take the decision. But her maturity could have stopped him. She is a successful, independent woman. But she fails.Being an elder Diya should have refused Ratan's offer of marriage at that point. She is the stronger of the 2 given her experience of 12 years. She is a hardened person, who has faced obstacles and over come them. She is also a woman who is knowledgeable and successful. Above all she knows how much Ratan is totally not into this marriage. But she did not refuse the marriage.I am happy that with this the makers have made the villains of the show to be Ratan's immaturity, Diya's guilt, the social norms and family's disappointment. The norms are very much valid even now. A SuKish is an aberration and not the norm.Ratan's growing unhappiness is going to make Diya try to make the wrong right for Ratan. All her life she has put Ratan ahead of her for whatever reasons. She is going to continue that trend.Ratan in his conversation with Yash said that he listened to his innervoice and that is what made him marry Diya. He obviously did not marry her for his dad or FIL's promise, or out of pity for Diya. He did it cause something within him prompted him to do this act.I thought the removing of the knot was symbolic. Ratan and Diya are soulmates and are connected, no matter how hard he tries he cannot undo the knot.. their connection. But Diya will be the one to release him from obligations. Not untie the knot ofcourse... both cannot do that - its tied for eternity đAnd he will suffocate without her... no adventure will be fun enough if she is not around. Then he will become a puppy dog (in the literal sense and a very cute one đ) with Diya and make all kinds of open declarations of love and torture her. That would be super fun.On another note... Diya is so accomplished. She, successful ran a hotel and made it profitable and also made sure that Ratan's life was safe. She was shown to be getting offers from around the globe, after she left KM.From the business sense and in the real world she is someone like a Chanda Kochar or an Indira Nooyi. But in this drama world, look what the CVs have made her into đđShe has become the BAHU cum Baby sitter đ¤Ł
Note: Reposted some lines from another post that I made..

Wow... good to see that finally there is someone who is not framing Ratan to be the wrong person here...đđ not that Diya is wrong either... but lets face it he is just 21!!! It is but natural for him to be all freaked out about this... he is trying to hold himself together but it's not easy for him... he loves Diya a lot but as his best friend and not anything else...( of course he's gonnna fall for her) ... He is going to be the fabulous loving husband that Diya always wished for...
