How is it possible that Naina cannot miss her mother? When her father barely acknowledges her , she must have wished that atleast her mother should have been alive to love and appreciate her. I wish they had shown few scenes of missing her mother.
However good Chachi is, no one can replace mother's place.

Infact Friday episode when Bela was in tears of happiness looking at Pooja, my first thought was there is no one to be this happy for Naina. Mother is dead and father is as good as dead.

It's just sad that her mother's absence has been ignored by the makers.

Coming to Sameer, who is his father is the biggest mystery.
Is he alive or dead ? Was Vishaka an unmarried mother?
Why does he have his Nanaji's last name?

And he too is never shown thinking about his father ?

I wish once this Shaadi and love confession is done, CVs give us a glimpse about her mother and his father.

Kavitha yes, none can take the place of a mother. No chachi, maasi, etc..no matter how good they are. Now that you said about Bela having tears in her eyes...yup...Naina will not have that. Mother is perhaps the most importat part of our lives. We don't exist without mothers. Ignoring Naina's mother and her absence seems very sad. With Taiji constantly taunting her about "Paida hote hi Maa ko kha gaye"...at a little self talk about her mother should have been there.
About Sam...all your questions are valid. Why is Vishakha so submissive to Somani to the point where she even refuses to recognise him. Would she have done the same to Rohan had Rohan been engaged in a fight in the public? Somani 's attitude is such as if he has done some big favor to Vishakha. Even Nanu does not say anything to Somani. There is some mystery about the whole thing. May be it will come up when there are talks about Samaina marriage...or may be one day Somani will end up saying...jaisa baap waisa beta...insulting Sameer's dad...and we might get to know about Sam's dad. Also, Sam has been told by his mom that his father is dead. I am wondering what if Vishakha and Nanu just lied to him. What if Sam's dad is alive? What if Sam's dad abandoned Vishakha just like Megha ben's lover? she was probably pregnant by then. So somani may have taken huge dowry from Nanu and done a favor by marrying her.

Hi, I think his Nanu's last name is Kabra!
His full name is Jayprakash Kabra. The episode in which, Naina first discovers Sameer's phone number, she gives a missed call followed by a redial on insistence of Bela Chachi. Initially Nanu talks to Bela Chachi followed by Sameer who says , " This is Kabra residence, whom do u want to speak to"?
The makers goof up by referring Sameer as the grandson of the Jayprakash from Maheshwari industries! I guess that is what causes the confusion.
Also, I believe ,Sameer's dad has passed away !

Jaiprakash is such a progressive thinking man. He would have raised a daughter to be an independent and self confident woman. Which makes me think why is Vishaka so submissive in front of Somani
Very valid points Rose.

@Rose and Canna -
You have very valid points about Vishakha being so submissive in front of Somani. The man is a bully husband. He is so openly unfair and disrespectful to her feelings.

Naina's mom died when she was baby, so she doesn't miss her. She gets lot of love from her chachi, so she doesn't remember her mom.

Arjun and Rakesh also don't remember her, it is odd. We also know that it is a TV show, they can't show everything.
