Also most were joint families. 90s era was a mix of the cult...where husbands tried to b diplomatic to both parties and maintaining the bond.😆 Nowadays nuclear families have made it much simpler as young couples move away from their parents after marraige and the spouses have only their issues to handle.

Mehr...this strikes me...this was a beautiful topic for discussion. Y cant v have sticky threads for Discussion of the week (one issue topic discussed per week)...game of the week etc to increase forum activity. Especially weekends. May b v can have DOTW started for every week on saturday and the weekend keeps the forum busy...in Krpkab v had many writers due to the issues addressed. V can very much start on the same lines here...

Totally agree with both of you. Initially Chacha seemed the sensible one amongst the Agarwals. But with this Bela chachi incident, he has fallen low. Demeaning your own wife in such manner and for what? She told the truth . So she was not diplomatic and did not lie to cover up the fault of the great Rakesh Agarwal. And then to say he would forgive his wife if his good for nothing brother forgives her...what sort of behavior is this? It makes the word "forgiveness" look so cheap. Chacha knows Rakesh will never genuinely forgive Bela. So what good is that word which basically becomes meaningless in this scenario? They could have taken a different route to raise Sam in Naina's eyes. In their defence the makers might say that such things happen in real life too. While I agree to that, I wish they had done it some other way giving a positive message. Isn't that what TV is supposed to do?
About the discussion topics, it is a great idea. But Meher, it is not just laziness. Such discussions require maturity and in depth thinking. It should not be construed as ML versus FL warzone. Most often, it tends to go in that direction. So if we have a thread like that, we need to tread cautiously and keep the forum free of such negativity.

I think Chachaji did not want to antagonize Rakesh since he was ready to take Naina and Ajrun away with him. Chachaji said it was Chachi's fault and she should leave house when he saw that the 2 kids will loose their home. He understands his brother and also his wife.

Agreed, he did not want to antagonise his brother...but if he understood both his wife and his brother, he must also know that the situation has arisen out of provocation from both ends. So, his rigidity towards Bela looks artificial in the way the character is positioned. I am not saying such things happen or do not happen in real life I am merely commenting from the position of how the characters have been narrated so far to us. Initially, I thought, it was merely intended to mirror to Naina, the aspect of trust..due to her issue with Sameer...as if to exacerbate her own concerns then but I hardly saw Naina comparing the situation later on...

To me, now this situation was created merely for Sameer to provide a solution. So, the Cvs did not think too much about how Anand's character will come across. They have shown Anand being aware of Rakesh's sharp tongue as also being aware of Bela's otherwise sweet nature..so making him look inflexible seems a bit odd...All I am saying is the CVs could have looked at a better situation to highlight Sameer's help.

Yet to watch the way it will unfold...so will reserve final comments on it

Rakesh ka saath khoon maaf...that's how it has been till now..except Tau and Oh bai nobody seems to see the flaws in Rakesh's character. I hope they don't change in overnight someday. That will will be utterly ridiculous and too filmy. His redemption if at all should be done gradually with him paying for his misdeeds and rude words.
