Abhay keeps on mentioning that he wants to take revenge and he wants to abandon Diya like how she abandoned him, But the fact is the scenarios are different. Diya broke her engagement and bore all the burden of the broken marriage on her head. She returned Abhay's ring and gave him complete freedom to start a new life. Moreover, especially in those times, when an engagement is broken, usually the female bears most of the burden. Society will question her character and her upbringing and most of the time, the males are given a free pass, even if they're at fault for the broken engagement. Thus, all these societal prejudices and judgement (on her character and her upbringing) would have been more than sufficient revenge for Diya breaking Abhay's heart. That is also why Sajjan Singh kept on worrying about Diya's marriage.

However, besides attempting to break Diya's heart, Abhay broke her trust. He gave her a promise to marry her (through Ratan) which led all the way to the mandap. He knew that society will look down on a woman whose marriage broke at the last minute. He questioned her character in front of everyone. Isn't all the societal prejudice and judgements enough punishment for Diya breaking Abhay's heart? What is the need for Abhay to carry out all this revenge? Especially when Diya didn't give him false hope or play with his heart. She gave him the freedom to pursue his own life 12 years back and bore all the accusations of their broken marriage on her head. She minimised the impact of her actions on Abhay's life.

Moreover, I wonder if Abhay really ever loved Diya? When I heard that he waited 12 years for her, I felt bad. I really appreciated how much he loved her. But look at how easily he placed accusations on Diya's character. I know he did see some dubious moments of Diya with Ratan. If he had any doubts on her actions or her relationship with Ratan, he could have easily clarified them with Diya. But he let these doubts simmer and questioned Diya's character in front of everyone. So did Abhay really ever love Diya? If he had, he would have understood her sacrifices and minimally, her character.

Anyway, I'm glad for Diya that she got to see Abhay's real colours and also realise the fact that Abhay never ever really loved her. I'm glad that she can move on peacefully in the future, without the shadows of her past with Abhay.

I agree 100% with you dear.
I too am glad that Abhay showed his true colours. She's well rid of him.

I also don't understand his logic but heat of the moment I guess.
He saw Ratan and Diya together close but he also has to remember that Diya was CEO of Keser Group of Hotels. Which means she spent independent single life with much more wealth than Abhay all these 12 years. Though she was bound with promise but if she had wanted she could build some relationship with someone. She didn't and of course it was for Abhay. But Alas! how can he think like that.

his anger and reaction is because of the last rejection where Diya said you are my past and burnt his letter n said Ratan is her future. though people have explained that Diya didn't mean it including both ratan and diya...that hurt and even more importantly anger over the humiliation runs deep. while it is directed at diya, if he can take ratan down ...the reason for diya leaving him time and time again...he wants to do it.
he is not interested in her reasons, the forceful bindings of obligations..he just wants to hurt her many times worse than she hurt him and publicly. he is not too bothered about consequence for himself. he just wants to see her suffer and feels (wrongly) that will calm his anger down someone...

I was actually stuck by one dialogue in that scene. Ratan states that he saw love in Abhay's eyes... that Abhay truly loved Diya even after 12 years and till the moment he rejected her. But he is blinded by his ego and thirst for revenge. Did he want her to plead with him to marry her? Anyways now that Ratan is married to her, wonder how Abhay will react. Did he expect Diya to get married this soon?
Now that she is married... he is going to come back for her again. That will make a good 3rd wheel thats going to make Ratan super jealous.

Why would a guy wait 12 years only for revenge? That's so unreal... he could have married someone else and had a family by now. As NK said he was slighted but that insult was just on his ego and would not really have affected him with his prospects of getting a wife.

So to conclude its more of Abhay's doubts on Diya's fidelity and character. Still this revenge feels so churlish.

This is what is going to happen...They will show abhay thinking waiting for 12 years just for a revenge was it worth it...he did get momentary happiness but lost love of his life (doubt it was)

There will be more twists if Abhay is also really in love with Diya. He being negative will be the same old story. He was human and he could have done what he did at that time but he can always reform and redeem his mistakes. That would be interesting. I am waiting to see his reaction after getting to know about her marriage. 😆😆😆
