Ever since its inception and the announcement of star cast, the only movie that caught the attention of so many movie lovers and immersed in neck-deep controversies in the recent times is undoubtedly Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat.

With Bhansali's muse Deepika Padukone playing the titular role, the film got huge popularity in no time. However, there are some other thoughts that are haunting few audiences as they feel that more than Deepika another actress would have justified the role well. Even though the screen time is very less, the actress who immensely pleased the viewers with her outstanding performance in Padmaavat is Aditi Rao Hydari who played the wife (Mallika Jahan) role of Alauddin Khilji in the film.

The stunning performance of the Aditi came out as a surprise for the fans as her royal and elegant appearance coupled with expressive eyes just flattered everyone. She portrayed even delicate emotions extremely well, unlike Deepika who just applied glycerine all the time into her eyes to give that wet stare, they say. Especially her acting when she got to know that her husband (Alauddin Khilji) killed her father (King Jalaluddin) is top notch. Perhaps that is the reason fans are commenting that Aditi Rao could have outdone Deepika in the titular role.

On the other hand, more than the film's hero played by Deepika Padukone and the side-character portrayed by Shahid Kapoor, it is villain Ranveer Singh who is winning all the applause.

Yes there were scenes where Aditi looked prettier than DP but I think DP looked and performed extremely well as the queen. She bought gravitas to the role which I doubt an Aditi could have. Aditi suited her part. But Deepika nailed it as Padmavati the queen. She was the complete package looks, intellect and bravery. Her glycerine eyes are more a factor of SLB than her. Barring the glycerine eyes everything else about her was pitch perfect.

Yep aditi surprised me very much. I always thought she is a dull, monotonous expression actor by looking at her photoshoots. But she was quite good! Her screen presence, her dialogue delivery, her delicacy, her strength, her vulnerability all was so smoothly conveyed by her. And she looked so exquisite in the movie, very beautiful <3. Deepika failed to create that impact but i would blame slb for that. My bro also said that khilji is obsessed over padmavati when his wife is better looking than her 😆

She would have but the limelight and hype that Deepika brings, cannot be brought by anyone else.

But I would have loved that Khilji finally sees Padmavati and be like, damn I ditched my better looking wife for this chic😆

She would have been way more pretteir and the whole beauty claim would have been justified. She looked way more beautiful than Deepika in the movie. When everyone else claimed Deepika(padmavati) pretty i was like okay but when Aditi called her pretty i was like "damn woman! Don't you see the mirror every day!"
But when regards to acting Aditi wouldn't have been a match in compare to Deepika. Her screen presence would have been a let down.
