Reading some old articles i came across that there have been many movies which the audiences said they didnt understand. I do agree with some of them

1. Rockstar- even i didnt understand why was he so sad in his life? sometimes he is singing at dargah, sometimes at some mata di jagraata. As per the story there is nothing that serious for which he needs to say sadda haq. Dont you feel the story is so confusing. The songs were brilliant undoubtedly. He acted very well. But why was he behaving that way , the climax...all confusing. It seemed imtiaz ali just had to create a noir cinema of international standard.and without any script he jumped in taking scennes from art films here and there and present it with palang tod dialogue.

2, Bhool Bhulaiyya was great but many people say that they didnt understand what was the director trying to tell? did ghost exist in that palace or was it a figmentation of vidya balans character.
If they are telling there were no ghosts and it was vidya who was to obsessed with reading that she got it in her mind, then why call the priest ..the priest at the end was shown telling the mad vidya that...you bad soul, leave this body immediately.
So question arises in which side is the director siding with? Existence of unsatisfied souls or problem of psychology /Scientific issue/ Medical problem.

I also saw that movie and there is no moral or lesson as such. Just two men who are so addicted to chess that they lose everything.

Rockstar was BS movie but Bhool Bhulaiya made plenty sense though execution was a bit clumsy with lots of red herrings thrown in. There was no ghost..Vidya was doing all those things as due to trauma of loneliness she started to believe herself as the dead dancer lady. I got where the story was going within 10 minutes but still it was a good film.

yeah satranj je khiladi , the only hindi film by satyajit ray.
there was one sushmita sen- shiney ahuja film which made no sense

way back in 2001, whenn dil chahta hai released , people also called it a confusing art film

but now its considered a bench mark and a turning point in cinema in india

Mission Kashmir. I, my friend and the people in the theater did not understand anything as I could hear them saying "Samaj mein nahi aata hai lekin dekhte rehneka" 😆
