BIGG BOSS 11: VIKAS GUPTA GETS CANDID ABOUT SHILPA SHINDE, HINA KHAN AND HITEN TEJWANI

Sitting in the corner of Mirror's conference room, Vikas Gupta radiated the same energy and positivity that we've seen in the Bigg Boss house. With sharp answers, observant eyes and subtle wit, he now has an aura of calmness around him and clearly no remorse or regret of being the second runner up. He believes his patience levels have grown by leaps and bounds, thanks to the testing times in the controversial reality show. "I have evolved and I really feel as a person I have become more patient," he says.

Growing popularity

Though the television producer wished to do several things after coming out of the house, people's generous love and attention is making it difficult for me to roam around as freely as he used to. "There are so many interviews...people walking in to meet that I am hardly getting any time to do anything. The other day, I went to the mall where police had to come as there was so much crowd and I had to leave. Walking on the streets is also little difficult these days. People have been showering love on me and I am not saying I am complaining, as I really love all that's been happening to me. It is magical!"

Vikas had entered the house as a celebrity, along with his television counterparts Shilpa, Hina Khan and Hiten Tejwani. Despite being not-so-popular, his spot-on tactic and strategies carved his way to popularity, garnering him the tag of 'mastermind of the house'. He readily accepts the label.

His chemistry with Shilpa Shinde

His 'Tom and Jerry' status with Shilpa, who was crowned as the winner of the season, made him immensely well-liked by his peers and audiences alike.

"Shilpa ji and I had a very good chemistry and people loved it as well. Everyone has their points of view and version on our chemistry, but I think we both played really well in the game, which is why we both were in the top three.

Different people, different opinions: Vikas on Hina

Vikas Gupta and Hina Khan had hit it off well in the initial weeks. But, as time went by, their understanding slacked due to growing differences and indifference.

However, he has slightly dry views on Hina Khan. "Hina and I are very different individuals with different opinions. We have been colleagues and have worked together in Bigg Boss, where she used to clean toilets and I used to do jhaadu," he dryly added.

"On a brighter note, we were doing a lot of housework together; we lived together, there were tasks happening. I'd say I am friendlier to Rohan, Hina's partner, than with her because we think alike."

When asked what could've been the reason for Hina losing the winning title, he said," I'd rather say, the game that Shilpa played was better and that's why Hina lost."

Brotherly attachment with Hiten Tejwani

While with Shilpa and Hina, Vikas was seen mostly competitive, his brotherly attachment and respect for Hiten Tejwani made him quite a relatable character for the masses. However, he also agreed that had Hiten not been evicted, he'd been in the top three and Vikas would've been shifted to number four. "Hiten's eviction was Shilpa's masterstroke. Nobody had thought that Shilpa would vote him out. It was a smart move as if Hiten would have been in the game, then as they say 'Maa ko baap hi hara sakta hai'."

Even though Shilpa's move cost Hiten his spot in the game much earlier than expected, Vikas believes Shilpa's move was highly competitive and in the right spirit of the game show. "There was nothing wrong in what she did. It was the right thing to do in the game. One has to eliminate the competition to stay in the game."

Fake vs real

Fake and real were the most used and abused terms in the house. However, Vikas revealed that everybody's real side was out in the game. "In the first two weeks, many people were 'fake', after that everyone was 'real' because that fakeness doesn't stay in the house for these many days. If you remember Arshi Khan from the first two weeks, she was so loud and over the top. In reality she is a girl from Bhopal and that's how her heart is. She is Tanu from Tanu Weds Manu.

"The way she behaved in the over-the-top manner in the first week, she is not at all like that. In the initial weeks, people used to hate her, later they started loving her for what she is," he added.

Burying the hatchet with Priyank Sharma

Vikas' graph of friendship with Priyank also saw quite a few ups and downs. There had been fights, disagreements, misunderstandings and everything else. "This game is so khatarnaak. You tend to get competitive, you want to win. Everyone has their priorities. My priorities have always been people, relationships, friends while some people's priorities were to win the game.. So leave the game where it is," he says.

"Priyank is a really nice guy and has done great in the earlier two reality shows. However, in this game there had been ups and downs. We all make mistakes. So bury the hatchet and move on, I say. Let's be happy and cool about the fact that talented, versatile people became a part of the show to entertain people. So we are superb," he added.

After walking out the house, the TV producer is active again on social media, more so, he started a hashtag on his twitter to share the wisdom from the experience. When we asked him what one should not do in the house, he laid down some basic rules. "In the Bigg Boss house, don't be selfish as when you are selfless it shows and people also see it and eventually it doesn't take you a long way. You have to, somewhere, be balanced. Also if you are balanced and if you are fair, trust me, even if you are a newcomer like me you can still make it to the top three."

What's next?

Vikas is already known as one of the youngest television producers with some great shows in his line up. His appearance in the reality show has amplified his professional circle. Talking about his upcoming professional commitments, he says, "A lot of things are happening. I am going to bring a lot of exciting things. There's a show for a leading youth channel, a web series that I am working on. There's a feature film that's being written so that's very exciting. With time every announcement will keep on happening," he signs off.

@bold: Best part of the interview. Hiten's only mistake was that he didn't "play" the game and Shilpa did... Hiten was his real self and Shilpa played like a gamer. Good for her but as far as their careers go Hiten has already proven that woh Shilpa ka BAAP hai... Shilpa NEEDED BB to revive career because of controversy filled career graph... she needed to hire an expensive PR to win the game. On the other hand, Hiten did not NEED this show, woh toh ainvayi masti karne aa gaya because the makers had begged him to come on the show AND he made almost 1.5 times as much $$ as Shilpa per week even though they have both been in the industry for the same number of years. Just goes to show who has achieved more in real life...

That line Maa ko baap hi haraa sakta hai' 🥳 Makhmal se lapetna koi Vikku se sikhe 😆

Hiten just started his game when Shinde eliminated him. From game perspective I always said it would have been a good move, but with 2 factors - a. she chose Priyank (who body-shamed her) over Hiten and b. she flipped multiple times on her reasons, that game thing becomes void. She eliminated him because VikHitShi were going strong without obeying to her Majesty and were playing their own decent games which made her jealous.

Vikku deserves all the love he is getting now. Karma for being tortured for 5 weeks.
